Hi all
Went to social security appt today and he says the girls will get a check. I had to send for the death cert and that will be a week or 2 to get here, then he can put in the application or whatever it is. Thank God. I have a dr appt tomarrow and going to ask him again for campral or antabuse or anything he will give me. I'm beat tonite from all the shopping this week and everything else. Off to watch survivor. love to all bird

Hello all, I am finally home and doing well. My leg is sore, but surprisingly stable. I can walk pertty well with the walker and will be moving on to the cane before you know it. God is good. thanks for all your prayers and thoughts.

Hi all'
Have the day off. Went to the doc and he wouldnt give me antabuse. Asked me how much I was drinking and said I was in pretty good shape for my age and antabuse would kill me and blah blah blah go to AA etc same ol shit. I should go in there with a major hangover and see what kind of shape he thinks I'm in then hahahahahaha. So I went shopping and went to the library and got home and theres a gift card from Tex. Christmas just keeps coming everyday here. I'm gonna do some wrapping before the kids get home. Later on..bird

It is softly snowing here with warmer temps this morning. Last night it was -22 Celcius !! brrrr ! Although as hubby says, it's making lots of ice. Last week he caught the biggest fish ever through the ice. It was a 8 pound pike.. As long as a garbage bag. Yummy

Well, I work this evening, so I better get my butt in gear. I'm still in my PJs' for goodness sakes !! I hope that everybody has a really nice Saturday, Hugs,

Hi all,
We are having some really bad rain here. We went to Albany (about an hour away) and went out to eat with a friend and do a bit of shopping. It rained all the way home and I could barely see. There is some very cold air coming behind it I cant wait. We got all our teacher shopping finished today I'm glad of that. Will get everything wrapped up tomorrow and all the cards ready to send out. Then I can kick back and wait. Do some baking when the weather changes. I'm beat tonite. love to all bird

Good Sunday morning everybody !!
It is a beautiful sunny morning here in Northern Ontario
Last night myself and a student had a whole lot of nothing to do at the school for the most part... We played cards, crazy 8-countdown... Steven wooped my butt, we played 21 which I seemed to do a whole lot better, when somebody asked to borrow the cards, we played tic tac toe, which was his forte'... Little bugger is as sharp as a tack I tell ya !!!
He is in grade 10, so I'm guess he is about 15 ... I had a really good talk with this young man about binge drinking.. He was saying that he could drink more than his 19 year old brother (with a proud grin on his face)... I really didn't lecture him, but really explained about the amounts of alcohol that is rushing into his system before it can be processed.. (oh ya, he was also proud of the fact that he has never been physically sick from alcohol) I explained that alcohol in these amounts will slowly shut down his breathing, heart and simply put him into a coma state, eventually causing death... He was really listening to all I was gently explaining, and I could tell that he was not aware of the real dangers involved... I also told him that when he gets older he will have to really monitor his alcohol intake if it doesn't make him ill now, and he can tolerate it soooo well at this young age...
I explained that when college students of legal age binge drink, they can and do lose their lives from it... All in all I think now he isn't quite sooo proud of his drinking tolerance. It's funny how he opened up to me, yet I'm guessing his parents might not have a clue that this young man has drank and tried pot on one occassion. ( I simply said, well now you need not be curious about pot, you have tried it and can now say no now... which he agreed with me)
Yesterday hubby and #1 son came home with our Christmas tree... Oh I laughed !!! REALLY !!! It had been tightly bound with rope for shipping for well over a month... It could have came through a window it was soooo skinny !!! It looked like a green turd in the living room... I laughed and laughed... #1 Son was cracking up too .... Hubby in trying to get the branches to stand out or ... something... Toooooo funny !!!
It did relax and now looks just beautiful I really should have taken a picture of this " Christmas Trig ".... I was calling it .... Oh the joys of the Holidays
Today I get to decorate it... Have a wonderful day all, Hugs and Love,

Hi all,
Seems like we are going nonstop this weekend. Got up early and went to do the laundry before it got crowded. Went by walmart to finish up the teacher gifts and back home to get started on the Christmas cards, what a big mess I have all over. The girls want to go to the movies and see the Chipmunks so we will be going back to town soon and ordered some pics from walmart so back there again and then home. Its really getting cold, but it wont snow. The cold always comes after the moisture here. Gonna make a pot of soup tonight. Nibs so funny about the tree. Lucky Steven has you to talk to and tell him what is really going on with the mess. More2 the sleigh ride sounds great. And loved the photo. Am I the only chubby one here? haha Everyone else how are you all?? later on...busy bird

Day 4

Hi all! I am new here and I have a question. I have been drinking too much for years- binge like mostly. Last six months- daily about a pint of vodka or whiskey at night with snacks. For a million reasons- I stopped and had my last drink Wednesday night. I have found myself sleeping a lot. Tonight I woke up with a strong taste of booze (like vodka & lime). Is this part of my body's detoxification? Slight headache- I have been on no meds except for an occasional Advil. I am eating decent food and exercising.

I would like to pop in here when I get the urge to drink. I don't drink much out- or ever drive drunk. I drink alone and a lot- and I want to stay on this new road, but know that I cannot do it alone.
