        30 days???

I agree luv. 30 is just the beginning. We are all just getting started. One day or 100 days, in comparrison to the time I intend to spend sober we are all just getting started. :clapclap: I see it as the begining of a new phase in our lives. I refuse to let myself get back to that worthless drunk I was. Thanks to you all I have been able to get just a glimpse of what is possible. I believe it is worth the effort, no matter how many times I have tried, it is worth the failures, sorrow and hurt. ull Together we can do this.

More2, I miss your exuberance so much. :crazymonkey: Get back on the train, it is just leaving the station. When we get to 5 years sober, 30 days won't mean squat.

            30 days???

            Hi Everyone
I was hoping to make 30 and I will continue to try to make that goal but this time I made it past 20 and that in itself is a milestone for me.
I have been having drinks this week but nothing extreme, I have been very concious of my intake. I have mixed feelings about moderation, I believe it can be done, however in order to do it I have to relearn how to drink "normally". This for me will be a difficult challenge as I have abused alcohol daily for more than 25 yrs.
Stringing as many AF days together as I can helps me put my drinking issue in perspective and it seems the more often I do AF stints the more control I have over myself when I do decide to drink. I don't consider it failing when I decide to drink after AF days, it's my choice, although a dangerous one.
I am sure I will succeed in this journey of mine as long as I stay focused on the issue at hand...to gain control of my self indulgence and self medicating to live a healthier, happier, fog free life.
Boozing truly robs us of so many precious things.

Congratulations to all who are still managing to stay AF and to those who still trying to get at least one day in. Very well done!

            Hugs,
            K

              30 days???

              Fantastic!

What a powerful, inspiring and supportive group you've got here, this is such a fabulous thread. Congrats on your 30, Hereatlast. I see JayDee, Luv and others are close behind. Keep up the excellent work, everyone!

If you like, I can move this thread over to the Monthly Abs forum once most of you reach your initial goal, just let me know.

Also wanted to mention a resource you may find helpful...a popular self-help advocate whose work you may have read, but this site was relatively new to me. It's that of Dr. Wayne Dyer and his online radio interviews. They are absolutely fabulous and available as free downloads. They're about 45 minutes in length; perfect for an exercise routine, when doing chores, or listening to when relaxing. Very inspirational stuff and if you haven't heard him, I think many of you here will find his messages particularly meaningful, especially at this time.

Dyer faced many challenges in his life and has been alcohol free for 20 years. He speaks of addiction as a gift and teaches us to use the experience in creating health. I encourage those of you who are reaching your initial goal to do everything you can right now to fill your heads, hearts and souls with inspiration, insight and positive energy. It will help motivate you in ways you never imagined.

Just a small sampling of interview topics:

Body Focus | Incredible You | Depression and Addiction | A Life Without Stress or Fear | Living Your Passion | Learning from Your Addictions | Living in Inspiration | Being in Balance | From Resistance to Acceptance

If you're interested, here's how to access Dyer's interviews:

              1) Go to http://www.drwaynedyer.com/
              2) Under "Dr. Wayne W Dyer" click the link "Listen Live | MP3s | Podcasting"
              3) On the left, click the "Listen Again
              " archive
              4) Click "Please create an account" at the bottom of the page and submit the appropriate info. When done, enter it in the fields on the left. It will take you straight to the archive.

You should all be so proud of your progress in reaching your goals or sticking to them. As you remove or reduce alcohol from your bodies please remember how important it is to reinforce this accomplishment by nourishing your spirit, as well.

I hope you enjoy Dr. Dyer's programming as much as I do and find it helpful to you as you continue on your journey.

              RJ

Wow....RJ, if it weren't for you, none of us would be here, and I'm a huge fan of Wayne Dyer, and he's done some cool CD's with Deepak too, I have many of his CD's, and they are great for our "cause"....his spiritual and inspirational motivations are very helpful...his voice is so peaceful for me too....I'd also recommend the Four Agreements, by Don Jose Miguel....saw he and his son in person at the Crossing's in Austin, Tx., truly amazing....we just have to realize we all go thru things for a reason, and for me, this may have been to bring me here to these great people, that I've never met, but have given me so much support and hope, and YOU ALSO...thank you for your tireless research into a problem so many of us face! KUDOS.....
