Oh Brit, You can't imagine how long it took be to just be able to SPELL Hanukkah!

Yeah, the girls have it great. We have the Menorrah set up right next to the Christmas tree. And, to top that, my two youngest are adopted from China so we celebrate Chinese New Year in addition to the regular New Year. Just one big party in the winter here.

Brit, you sound strong. It sounds like you turned a huge corner after this last lapse. We really do learn by our mistakes don't we? Are you still planning on going to OP?

Hi, guys.

I just wanted to drop in and say I am truly interested in the meet up in Tallahassee.

I mentioned it to Mags last night and she is interested, too, as long as there will be no drinking.

I have to admit, I am in the same way. I just can't be around drinking yet. I am too vulnerable.

So, is it going to be an AF meet up and any particulars yet?

LUV, yes, please stay busy. If you need, please call me. I would love to chat with you for a while. I'll pm you my # yet again. I am the same way, btw, about my lapses. They tend to be when I am alone. I don't know why. That is why traveling is so hard for me. The hotel nights are tough.

I'll be traveling next week to Toronto for a couple of days. I may need to have a few people to call or chat with then. I am doing too well and I sure don't want to go up there and get trashed. It would be bad in many ways!!

I think everyone going agrees no AL?????....We are all AF or trying damn hard to be....I for one wanna remember meeting you all and all we do, after waiting so long. Jan 16-18 is the meet up in Tally. I will get with MA and find a Hotel that we could all stay at. We have like 7-8 interested thus far. YEAHHH.........I know I keep saying it but I am just so excited! That time of year is nice in Florida...not cold, but not hot.

MOMof3, what I am doing is AA 4 nights a week and antabuse and topa...hasnt arrived yet but should be here any time now. I checked in to several OP programs and ALL of the evening ones are 12 step anyway but cost a FORTUNE...AA is free. Well, ya put a dollar here and there but basically free. I feel much better today than I have...really this week. I am such a strong-willed, stubborn damn person and feel very weak in the hold of this disease. It pisses me off really!!!! We are gonna beat this!!!! Our group has had ups and downs, but I can say it seems the slips are further and further apart. That is good, right? AND not one of us has given up. We keep trying!!!!!

I assumed our meet up would be AF but it was good to make that explicit. I think it will be so empowering for us to be together to share our stories, support one another and to have alot of laughs. And Cinders, I am still not comfortable being around AL. At best, I tolerate it. I no longer feel like I'm going to sneak a drink but it feels like a big fat annoyance so I still avoid situations where I know AL will be freely flowing. I guess the bottom line is that it is not a nonissue for me.

Brit, yes, the OP is very expensive and I agree, beyond the initial detox I went through with OP and the medication support, it was all 12 step based and they pushed you hard to go to AA meetings anyhow.

Ya'll will probably laugh at me because I'm sure to bring my own tea bags :H Luvie, we ought to chat about that cheap airline you mentioned. I saw a flight on Orbitz that wasn't bad. Any particular AA group ringing your bell in terms of sponsor possibilities?

Hello everybody !!! Sorry for being awol... honestly cannot stand this ancient computer for gosh sakes... our boys have it soooooo clogged with music, pictures etc along with it being dial-up... It take forever to just get on line... I've got to get it cleaned out so I can stop by more often... I'm so happy to hear that you are all going to meet up... Wish I could be along with you all.
I've been soooo super busy with work..... nutso there, but much better thank the dear Lord.... Freckles is completely settled in with her best friend Milley...
Tomorrow is Halloween and alot of kids will be at school dressed up... fun stuff... I love and miss you all.

Good to see you Nibs!! And everyone else. Momor2, my boys are 15 and 17 now, this will be there first EVER Christmas they see me sober.......................it hasn't been bad in the past, just for me I don't remember much, never got "too drunk" at public holidays, thank GOD! But spiritually I think this will be the best Christmas EVER!!

David (17 year old) came in 1st in the butterfly stroke swimming last night in the local "big meet", he goes off to Jacksonville next Friday for the regionals, I am going along, it will be super fun!! I am so proud of him (can't you tell??)

I have been so busy, I hope I haven't missed too much, but only really check in here.........

Best, glad you found Rocky................had lots of times like that w/ the boys, snakes, mice, and even a lizard...............never gave in to the "pet Tarrantula" begging thank GOD!!!:H:H

Hi all;
Geez, the kids didn't want to trick or treating this year. Kinda sad they are growing up. We carved a jack O lantern though. One of our chickens is missing. I hope a dog didn't get her. Haven't seen any feathers around. Yeah an AF meet would be good. I dont like drinking with people anyway since I cant remember anything I said. I'm on anty anyway. Have my recording session with the little jazz band tomorrow and am a bit worried about it. Hopefully will turn out well. Later on.....bird

You are not too far from me and I love music, jazz is cool..................David(son) used to play sax in a school jazz band. If kids are allowed, he would like it too.......................just let us know if you get a chance. I am sooooooooooo excited for you!!! This is AWESOME!!!!!

I will be on anty and topa....I just want our meat to be great. We have all anticipated it so long.
I know u will do grat tomorrow....toes and fingers crossed. My kids didnt wanna TnT either...we carved pumpkins also. Was a nice evening at home conseidering today is a full blow out shin-dig for Brit. I have been up since 5 am cooking, etc.. SHE'd BEST love her Mama today!!!! LOL
