You just reminded me of something I saw on funniest home videos last night. Family cooked a turkey but forgot to clean it out inside. After it was cooked, they pulled out the inside stuff and found a baby turkey. They cooked a mama turkey and her baby. How gross is that? Thank God I am vegetarian.

30 days...day 2

Haven't been by in a while. I have been traveling in Peru...a life altering spiritual journey. While in Peru I was generally very moderate...a small glass of wine or so per night. I just didn't want it. I had one night in the jungle where I drank too much beer with some new young friends, but overall not an issue. A few days home and I had a good binge. It made me realize how much boredom, lonliness and an environment of other drinkers plays a role in my behavior. Anyway I have decide to stay away from it for a while while I heal and think over my expereience. I seem to not want to drink when I have better things to do. Here's to better things for all of us.

Oh yuck! Turkey en utero! Sounds like a new dish! Not for me! I too have been away visiting our daughter, son-in-law, and 3 1/2 year old grandson! Had a blast! Back to the grind now! 120 AF days today! Feeling very grateful for where I find myself!

Wow...Puru...what a cool experience that must have been!
I'm with you about staying busy. I'm starting a yoga class tonight. Go straight from work 2 days a week. At first thought it was selfish since the boys (teenagers) will have to make their own dinner but they will probably like the freedom (one's about to go off to college anyway). And it's time for me to start doing things for myself for a change.
And you know...there's always better things to do...like cleaning the basement!
Jeeze...I've put that off long enough. Is it just me or does it seem like we spend the first half of our life collecting stuff and the second have getting rid of it???

Doing ok today,not great, work has me soooooooooooooooooooo stressed right now, left my wallet at the beach, Mike will brink it back today...............

Hi Nibs...thx for asking bout me. I have actually been a member for over a year. I took a leave of absence and came back as another user. I used to be tkeene.

I aspire to be AF...have lots of AF days, but have not quite gotten the hang of it. I am a work in progress...but as long as I am making progress, I feel confident.

Everyone, have a super day. MA...sorry to hear your so stressed out, but we all know AL only adds to our stress. Take an AF break and you will feel so much better, I promise.

To answer your question, I arrived at my first session at Lenair on the 8th day - being AF on my own. I craved the entire time until my first session at Lenair. After my 1st session, I have never had a craving/urge. I have never needed to use the reinforcement exercise. Amazing! I feel very fortunate and grateful! :h

And thanks for bringing up the turkey thingy.........oh, one never quits learning. I too did not know that american turkeys give birth to live babies. So the egg thingy is just a farce.........or is it the other way 'round? LOL>

No Lori...chickens, turkeys all lay eggs! Law of nature. I googled America's funniest home video's and couldn't find anything on the videoe Lucky mentioned? I think Lucky was watching something from outer space!! Even if they did have "live" babies...that would be really gross and sad all at the same time. And just who stands around with video machines at just the right moment for all these "suprize" shots?? Makes one wonder.

Lucky is a quazy duck......

I am back to normal! The enviroment I was in was just to damn stressful this early in sobriety. But, I am back home and had no cravings 2 days now. WHEW! Feeling good.

Bird those chickens are so funny.
