hi everyone. I just joined tonight. I've been trying to give up alcohol for some time now and have been successful in bursts - these have been getting longer - gone from 4 AF days to 32 - but have never done a calendar month from start to finish so that's why I've logged on here (hope its the right place) as I want to be AF for the whole of June. Am doing well so far, no alcohol for me since 30 May so I'm on track!
Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Hi both, lovely to meet you. I'm sorry I can't stop now as its late here in the UK and I must go to bed as got visitors tomorrow and loads of housework to do.

Beaner I am sooooooooooooo happy for you! A year! Whoooop whooop (as Barbie Boot Camp used to say) I am sending you a hug of congrats! I would love to hear the details of how this year has played out. So the divorce is almost complete? I know how hard this must be on you - but you sound as strong as a Warrior - and have some amazing support here. You rock girl!

I have been good --- really really really busy! I have been thinking about selling my business. I want a little more freedom now that I have changed so many habits in my life. I still have much I want to change - but feel I need a job where I am not IN CHARGE of anyone but doing my job -- so that I can focus on the other areas of my life that need attention. Also I want to spend more time with my family. My parents are really aging - and reading about Luv going to see her Dad makes me miss mine. Life without Alcohol has finally become the norm for me. I still keep my radar on high for times that I could in an instant make a decision that would unravel everything I've worked so hard for - but if feels more the norm all the time. I was having coffee with some of my old AA friends and we were talking about this very thing.

Life here on the boards looks good again. It got a little crazy a while back - lots of mud slinging - and i needed to guard myself from that. I have learned that you can speak life - or speak death into your own life or into other peoples lives -- It is a finite thing. I became such a negative person before I quit drinking. It is the nature of addiction to be so bitter inside - and have really been able to clear that from my life.

I would love an update sometime - I miss you and the other amazing supportive people on this site. You take care.

Hello all, thanks for the welcome. Couldn't get on this morning as internet being temperamental! I've been cleaning all day only just sat down for 5 mins before visitors arrive.

Good Sunday afternoon everybody !
We just got home from camp. Hubby and I are in the middle of renovating the spareroom there. The panelling is up and the new flooring is down. Next trip we will be putting in new bunkbeds and ceiling.
Our dogs swam like fish.
A warm welcome Sooty Sounds like you are doing just terrific !
MA, I hope that you aren't in so much pain today. There is nothing worse than a sore mouth.
I only have one and a half weeks left of work and then my summer holidays begin !! YIPPPEEEEE !!!! These early mornings are getting tougher and tougher as the days begin to turn warmer.
Well, I'm going to start some laundry and hit the shower.

Well Nibs...I thought ya done ran off....someday I am comin to camp. Maybe we will all come. That would be great!!!! We got out of school Friday.

Good Monday evening everybody
It's raining and so darn cold here.... I brought the horses in early because of the weather and Maisy is actually shivering and shaking from the cold not to mention she shed all her nice warm winter coat. After rubbing her down with a towel I put a blanket on her. After I'm done on here I'll go see is I can take off her blanket for the night. We are supposed to get warmer weather starting on Wednesday. Thank you Lord ! This week will be pretty busy with some late shifts so I may not be stopping by until maybe Thursday to say "howdy"
Sooty you are doing just amazing !!! Enjoy your "lazy day" as you so deserve to relax and enjoy it.
Most of my garden braved the cold weather and still broke through the soil... We need some heat to get things "rockin" here.
Well, I should go and see my chilly horse. She should be doing much better munching hay all nice and dry.
