I think G's scenario is good, except we've already had about 6 meetings, so approx a dozen mentions of getting on the drink, and I've just smiled and said nothing. Awkward? or I'm reading too much into it, which is probably the case.If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Happs, is this a temporary work relationship or will it be ongoing, and will you have to actually go to drinks with her?
If it's only for a short time you might be able to answer by focussing on the celebration/relaxation aspect rather than the wine. You could say something along the lines of "yeah, it will be nice to get out of here and kick back" or if she mentions wine o'clock you could say "yep, there's nothing better than the end of the work day". Then if you do have to go to drinks with her you could just order something NA, and if she makes a fuss you could make one of the dozens of excuses why you're temporarily not drinking.
Actually, if it's ongoing, you could do pretty much the same, but when you get to the drinks it's up to you whether you want to make an excuse or just say you don't drink.
It really sucks that it's such a big deal though.
I went shopping with my sister the other day, and when I asked her if she wanted to have a break for coffee, she said "no, I'd rather get this finished so I can have a glass of champagne". It was 10 o'clock on a Saturday morning! There's two ways of looking at the holes in your shoes
