SOBER OCTOBER
Hi everyone, sorry Quake girl about your Mom, she's lucky to have such a caring daughter. Cherish your time.
Thanks Free for sharing the Ted video, that was so helpful to me. I'm going to work on showing my vulnerability more, wow - that was a light bulb moment for me.
This thread is really motivating me too guys. Wish I could run Lizann and Tom, but have plantar fasciitis. I love riding my bike, walking and kayaking though. Today I'm off to prune shrubbery for a couple of hours manually - great workout for the arms. Have a great day !"A good garden may have some weeds"

SOBER OCTOBER
Hi , Gardener and thanks for the kind words. My relationship with my parents is far from easy. But am going to do my best.
You all totally inspired me to...run! I hadn't done that in about a year, and had got really slack about any exercise for the past few months. Nearly killed me , but felt great (if not exhausted) afterwards. And now off to the gym again this morning day 7. A whole week down.

SOBER OCTOBER
So it was rainy here all day. No walk outside today. As much as I hate that treadmill I had to use it. Watching football helped pass the time. Weathers not going to be great for the next few days. Time just drags when I'm on the treadmill.
Have a great week all.

SOBER OCTOBER
Checking in. Didn't get any activity today. Well - I did do some laundry and stuff but I didn't make it to the gym. I did go for the past 3 days though so I'll do it again tomorrow.
I am taking antabuse so no drinking for me. And, I did take the pill this morning. Sometimes, I like to 'forget' to take it.
Quake - sorry to hear about your Mom. Great job on avoiding the drink. That will definitely help you be stronger to help your Mom. :h"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

SOBER OCTOBER
Thanks, Nora. Another day under my belt (or at least it will be, at bedtime in 5 hours...)
You all continue to give me a much needed nudge in the right direction- went to the gym this am. And this morning, with Free's words ringing in my ears, I snapped up a past minute massage appt on offer. Figured the price was about half of what I didn't drink this past 7 days. Go me!!!

Quick check in as my internet connection is dicey. Continuing down my AF path. Strong focued and close to MWO if you are at all tempted to cave in. That has helped me enormously.Free at Last

SOBER OCTOBER
Walked I'm the garage at work today. Seven levels total, took me about half an hour. I'm sure people think I'm absolutely nuts walking in there but it was raining and I can't stand to waste a half hour. Did a little more walking on the treadmill when I got home. I made baked chicken and a salad for dinner tonight. Tomorrow I start my "cleanse". I'll let you know how that goes.

SOBER OCTOBER
Good going, everyone. I got dressed for the gym, but got waylaid preparing for a big meeting with the bank. Went great, thanks to my 'focused' approach (yep, Tom, I went there...)
I did wonder, as I was getting ready to leave, whether I would have been so well prepared, if I was still knocking back wine every night.
Another day down
