    Self control month

    Self control month.

    We spend our lives working for someone else. We wake up early, endure often an unpleasant commute and then carefully plan out the whole day around work.

    However, by the time we get to enjoy our own time we rarely exercise the same work ethic as we do at work. Evening are spent in front of a box and weekends are often wasted. Why do we not work as hard on organising our free time as we do at work?

    Next month I have a big private event happening on the 23rd of November. So to be at my best I decided to commit to planning my free time very thoughtfully. And a key a to a good plan is having a clear goal.

    Goal 1 = Get under 175 lb by 23rd of November (Starting weight 192lbs)
    Goal 2 = Do not consume any processed sugar
    Goal 3 = Monitor my thoughts. Positive mental attitude is the most important thing that a person can have and everyone can control what they think about.


    Everyone is welcome to join in and I really hope not to embarrass myself by not committing 100%. Will create a daily plan every evening and stick to it. It is amazing what we can do with our lives if only we put in as much effort as we do when we work for someone else.

    Am about to go out for McDonalds meal ( as a way of saying goodbye to junk food) and go to bed before 1 am. Tomorrow the challenge begins with an early session at the gym. 7 am start and a goal of 700 calories burn. Will also fit in an evening run to burn another 300 calories while maintaining 1,500 calorie diet which should result in about 2000 calorie deficit for the day.

      Good luck. My daughter wants to do a 21 day challenge. You eat only fish, veggies, fruit.

        Allan-- great idea! What do you mean by join in? That we could post our own goals for the next day here? I was thinking of starting a thread as well to keep myself, to clearly state my goals an keep myself accountable--a month is a great amount of time.

              I like the idea of taking a pic every day

              By joining in, I meant taking control of your personal life. It's a shame that we have so much control over our business lives but so little ambition and planning of our personal life. So I encourage everyone to plan out your evenings and weekends and see how much more fun activities and personal goals you can achieve by managing you time more thoughtfully.

              I am guilty of this myself and will do my best to commit to goal setting and planning over the next 30 days.

                  Finally home after a very productive day at work.

                  Did not go to the gym this morning as it was dark and pouring down with rain. Just had dinner, lacing up my trainers and off to the gym for a two hour workout.

                  Just need to keep it up for at least a month.

                    Trying to get used to the feeling of not being full. I am sure that I will stop noticing it at some point but right now I am very aware that I would usually have a snack when my tommy doesn't feel full. Looking forward to the evening session at the gym and getting below the 190lb mark hopefully this week.

                          Day 4 today. Doing really good and feel strong. Going to dinner and shopping with my daughter tonight.

                            Back from the gym and done with a 2nd day without Sugar. Some sets back at work and had a nasty surprise at home It is a good thing I am too exhausted to go out to buy something sweet or I would have...
