    Day 4 Insights

I've just been reading some past threads about moderation vs. abstinence. I know moderation isn't for me. Once I have the first sip, I start on the path to a binge. I haven't always been like this. For me, alcoholism has been progressive. I used to be able to stop at a more sensible point, but the potential for over-drinking was always there. I have an addictive personality. My binges can last for days & days. Then my shame overwhelms me & I stop. I'm hoping that this time, with the help of daily contact w/this forum, I can put together enough AF days to cause my obssessing/craving to wane a little.

I also realize that all my rationalizing about how I'm not a down-&-out drunk, homeless, & drinking hooch out of a paper bag are just that. Rationalizations! I'm a functional alcoholic! I waste a lot of time, money, & energy on alcohol, hangovers, & guilt. Thank you.

    Day 4 Insights

It's never too late to feel great ! Hey ! That rhymes.

    Good Morning Retteacher
Have you ever tried Kudzu ? I'm only on day 2 of taking it, but yesterday was a really great test for me. It didn't bother me in the least to not have a beer with my husband while we cleaned smelts (small tasty fish that go up streams to spawn in the springtime) If you haven't yet tried Kudzu I would strongly suggest it. It curbed all my cravings. For me I took one in the morning and then 1 around 12 and then another one around 2:30. (I crave alcohol right after work 3:00) After supper I don't think of it but enjoy a tea. I really hope that this helps you. It was suggested to me that 3 tablets 3 times a day would be good, so maybe that would be better for you? We are all different, I mean special !
    Have a Good Day ! ~Niblet~
