Hey Pick, once you go AF, yes, you will have to deal with the detoxification process, including skin issues, some rashes, headaches, a little muscle aches and pains...it's because your liver is really working to process everything out of your system...drinking loads of water will help lighten your kidneys load...up to 1 oz for your full body weight daily. Also, 30 minute hot epsom salt baths daily will open your pores and help your skin get toxins out, in addition to getting extra magnesium into your body to help support you.
Even 10 minutes of deep breathing or stepping in place will help your lungs and circulation get things out. If you have a rebounder, 10 minutes on that will help get the lymph moving and out of your body to help release toxins. You can also get a natural vegetable bristle brush and do 5-10 minutes of dry skin brushing daily, which is also excellent for moving your lymph and detoxing your system..
I know this is not easy, and sometimes, we feel better when we go back to a little of the addiction but that is just the cycle which is why methadone is not such a good "detox" for drugs but a substitution.
Treat yourself nicely during the rough days and try to tough it out and you will feel much better. The real detox period for most people lasts 3-10 days.
