Oh frisk, Bridgey
I'm so sorry to be waffling on about wedding stuff when you have boyish exam issues to deal with. If it's any help, G2 is also in the middle of his uni exams, whist trying to take the responsibility of being a best man squarely on his young shoulders. He thinks he's going to fail, and that breaks my heart. Fuckety, fuckety fuck. Why is life never easy?
Anyway - on to fun things. So, remember my little red boat? Well, I've been chatting to the owners and that is still on the agenda for next December, but in the meantime I've just booked a trip to Galapagos for July and am working out where else to go before/after.There's two ways of looking at the holes in your shoes

Glassy :l it's not idiocy...its just human...that's allowed, cut yourself some slack. You're brilliant, you've got great kids and you will have a wonderful time and look like a rocking proud mum. How cool is that?
Bridge, no answers on that one. I'm doing battle myself. More a silent battle of wills though. Here have one of these :l

So, have I mentioned my boss could be considered to be a little ...umm.. bossy?
I just sent an email requesting leave for late July/early August next year and explained that it didn't conflict with school holidays, and I received a response saying it should be OK but she can't confirm until I have my exact dates. WTF?There's two ways of looking at the holes in your shoes

Morning Glassy and Bridge.
Sorry I've been absent - a couple of days ago, my ex brother-in-law (my sister's ex-husband) was diagnosed with mesothelioma. I dont particularly like the guy, but he was a very big part of our family for a long time and I am very close to all his kids (five of my nieces and nephews). So I've been tied up with a bit of family stuff.
Glassy - you are the most amazing woman and I really felt for you feeling left out. I cant remember who said it but I do think it is something about weddings being centred on the bride and her friends and relatives. So many of my nieces and nephews have got married over the last few years, and I have really noticed the difference.
And you have obviously turned out spectacularly wonderful young blokes which is no mean feat. I'm certain some good karma is coming your way and the Galapagos trip sounds totally amazing!!
Big hugs to everyone else .... I've had lots of thoughts a I've been reaing through, but not enough time to say them. But I did see something nice today, that I'm going to think about in my glum moments - I'm not really into poetry, but there was soemthing about this that just got to me:
Sometimes things don't go, after all,
from bad to worse. Some years, muscadel
faces down frost; green thrives; the crops don't fail,
sometimes a man aims high, and all goes well.
A people sometimes will step back from war;
elect an honest man, decide they care
enough, that they can't leave some stranger poor.
Some men become what they were born for.
Sometimes our best efforts do not go
amiss, sometimes we do as we meant to.
The sun will sometimes melt a field of sorrow
that seemed hard frozen: may it happen for you.Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

I was considering hiring a gorgeous male escort, but Mr G has a gig that night.
Mates rates for you Glassy.
'Tis a gorgeous morning here at postcode bayside bachelor pad. Sky bleu everywhere, inside and out. Feeling fab. Helping a mate move some stuff today, then probably lunch with that cool group of folk. Abseiling in to Clive Palmers tent at Moonee valley to say giidday, and now i've just noticed some frisky Mexican sheila who's possibly had a couple and likes me music is messaging me on FB. Better go and sell a CD.
xpost. Morning Missy. I'm sorry to hear of your sister's ex-husband's diagnosis. Thanks for those words. It's a beaut piece.
Have a pearler out there y'all.
Yo!
