    Army Thread Tuesday 5th November

    :wavin: Army

Good news: the insurance company paid out the full retail value of Mrs. T's car, PLUS a few thousand extra because it was in good condition before the accident. The money should be in the bank tomorrow, and we've already been to look at a replacement vehicle she likes. It means we'll have an installment again, but luckily not so high that we'll struggle as a result. Very grateful and relieved that it all turned out OK.

There are stupid feckers in South Africa who feel the need to "celebrate" Guy Fawkes day. Let them just try setting off crackers or fireworks in our neighborhood. I'll have law enforcement on them in no time. Very sad case over the weekend: one of the neighborhood cats, a tortie by the name of Turbo, was doused in paraffin and subsequently died of chemical burns and poisoning. WTF drives a person to do that to an animal?

Whizzy, I think he was Catholic, wanted to blow up Parliament. Long before my time though and long since I did that in history class, so could be very wrong.

What is Mrs T getting, Tips? Last year was quiet here on the whole, hope it stays that way. Can't tell you what I'd like to do to people who mistreat anybody or anything. But it will be drawn-out and nasty and bloody.

Satz - :goodjob: you're happy & waving and so on. Haven't seen you all day!

OMG that is so horrible.:upset: I really despair ... at the cruelty out there and you know when I hear these things I always hope they had taken some mind altering substance - because if a human being could be that cruel 'in their senses' - it is truly scary !

DTD - You see - in the workhouse we have beings called 'noseyholes'.
These beings are so nosey they read over your shoulder all the time - even with a privacy screen :egad:
I happen to have one of these in the office beside me :upset: so I have to take the opportunity to 'play' when I can

That is just sick that a human being could do that:upset: I have always kept my cats inside cause I never wanted any sicko or another animal to hurt them. All animals in my house get treated like royalty, treats, warm sherpa blankets, lots of snuggles and even the tv on so they have something to watch while I'm away at work.

Good news on the car. Hope you have recovered physically also.

Hi to everyone!!!!! Hope you all are having an awesome day!

                Hiya Satzuma, Dreamy and Red.

I keep getting freaked out when I think about the poor cat. The worst thing I've ever done to one of our four is nudge them away with my foot if they get too heavy at night.

We still wonder what Jasmine had gone through before we got her. Even now, she's very timid. At least her bark sounds vicious enough. But then again, Golden Retrievers aren't meant to be proper watchdogs. She's much more of a companion dog to mum.

Dreamy: a new Chinese take-away recently opened at a nearby shopping centre ( the Spar as you enter Stellenbosch from the Helshoogte Pass, but that's an aside). We had a good laugh at their Chinglish menu. The one item is "Hong Kong dark. Order before one hour."

I want to be a cat in your house in my next life, Red.
                I'll do whatever it takes

                      Army Thread Tuesday 5th November

Indeed yes...............it's a rant about fireworks and cruelty to animals.

                      Here we goooooooooooo.....................

Animal cruelty is abominable. That just makes me want to heave.
Like you Tips, I often wonder what Sir Dylan the Dog and Bess went through before we got them.
And, and................and there is a direct connection between animal abuse and child abuse and family abuse.

Now the fecking fireworks, it's now beyond a joke that any eejit over 18 can just waltz in to friggintesco (or some other major supermarket) buy a bunch of the stupid feckers and set them off in their own back gardens. I'd like to ram them where the sun don't shine.

Thank you for listening..............this rant has been brought to you from the dining room table at JC Mansions.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Red, please don't let my spoilt bratty kitty poo hear that: she's sure to start making demands

Chinglish is lovely, Tips, as is any other form of -lish. Is the HK dark any good?

Reading Anthony Burgess: as least he knows how to use language.

Clockwork Orange is the only book I've tried to read of his........ I might has well have read some in Ancient Greek.

Would you believe we pay an extra bit monthly to guard our no-claims bonus. Come in handy when Mr JC decided to back into a GIANT yellow skip he hadn't seen.
