Well, whaddaya know? :H

The friend my daughter was going to bring, got a last minute phone call that his ex had agreed to let him see his daughter... so that's where he went. My kids both attended Christmas at my house, my daughter and my son's g/f talked and somehow found common ground... and all in all... it was a decent Christmas.

And, the little ones had a blast (as they should). Merry Christmas to all. :l

Whew. Another Christmas survived

Positives:
1. My daughter finally came around and apologized to my son's g/f (she had harboured VERY ill feelings towards her since she broke off with the boy 2 months before their wedding and strung him along for a bit, then suddenly had a new b/f.). Daugther didn't agree with the 2 of them getting back together... which is really none of her business. Anyhow.. she did make amends and the two of them had a good chat. Well done, girls.

2. I did not drink.

3. Son and daughter got along ok. (It has been very tense for the past few months).

4. I did not drink.

5. Grand peanuts had a splendid time.

6. I did not even think of drinking.

7. Everybody got here and home safe and sound.

8. I did not drink.

9. Turkey dinner way too good and way too much.

10. And, I did not drink.

Sunshine, I'm sorta glad I'm not the only one who has children who make me sad! But only because it's something I can share with all other mothers....really we all have some kind of sorrow.

But your day turned out so well! And my son is actually going to travel to see his sister in January! Just for a visit! It will be the first time they have seen each other in at least 10 years. So things have a way of turning around eh?

Stay strong this week, and I'll take my baclofen starting Monday, and we'll kick this shabby beast to the curb :H

Good day today, much quieter. It's great to have a house full of kids and grandkids...but it's lovely when they leave, too! :H

Spent some time with the horses, got barn chores done, took down our hideous Christmas tree (we really outdid ourselves this year - I don't think I've ever seen a tree that looks WORSE with lights and decorations than nekkid) and finally got to watch the Voice finale

Chocolates and tea in bed now... don't get much better than that.

I know YOU get the 'it's awesome to have them all here, but boy, is it nice when they leave' bit... :H And, how was your Christmas? Did EB, Miss Lily, and the rest have a great time?

Poor Peanut, he had to part with a Thomas train, he got for Christmas... the remote wasn't working. Had THE WORST Wallmart "Customer Service" rep one could possibly get and had to leave the train there and pick something else. So, he got a very small train track thingie, a Thomas and a Percy... and apparently, he hasn't put them down yet

I'm having an appallingly lazy day today. And I almost feel no guilt at all. So there :H

Well, enough with the lazing about - time to get back to work 'n such.

If I look back on 2013... it probably wasn't my best year in many respects.. but it could have been a lot worse, too. So, no regrets... gratitude for the small and larger blessings and gathering determination for a more successful 2014.

I feel like I have a lot more support in my corner now, more ammunition in my arsenal, and am overall in better shape to take on new challenges and stay reasonably sane doing so.

At the beginning of this year, I said "This is the year" in regards to my horses. And, it was. Now, I'm saying "2014 is the year for ME". And, it will be.

:H Love them up.. definitely.

But, ride them, too, yes. The Pinto in my avatar is a bit of a challenge but we progressed hugely this year. And, I'm planning on teaching him to drive now I think he'll really enjoy that. He LOVES long lining/ground driving. So, we'll see.

This was last summer: They're both mine but only I ride the Pinto. Sir Galahad is my 'visitor' horse... and my horse to "relax" with... outings on Tika aren't exactly relaxing :H

Happy New Year. Welcome 2014.

Good Lord.
Spent a nice evening with friends, potluck dinner, lots of finger foods to graze on, drank tea all night and a glass of water at the end. Woke up at 5am with the usual back pain... took some pills, went back to bed.. then woke at 10:30 with the worst head ache ever. Thought I'd been hit by a bus in my sleep. Went back to bed, woke up at 3 hours later. Still not feeling a whole lot better.

What the...? A fine start this is. Well, at least, it's not a hang over. Small blessings, eh?

Better get to my feet and go feed horses 'n such. Also need to fix printer today because I promised to print out some stuff for the (future) AA women's group. I guess, work on getting that official will start next week. Really looking forward to being a part of setting that up
