    Army Thread Sunday 10th November

Reccie, do you think you can get away with calling Amy your hearing ear dog? Then she could go with you.

:hallo: Army. Back from Big Walk. But not without drama. WTF is it with this family? :upset: Mrs. T ended up in A&E with a drip. We had just had lunch at my company's hospitality tent when she started feeling light- headed and dizzy. Paramedics came and took her to the nearest hospital, where we spent a couple of hours. Her blood pressure had dropped to 82/38. All's well again now, though. She's lying on the couch catching up on some series she missed in the week, so it's back to normal.

Time for a brief nanna nap. Bacinabit.

The plumber called late morning with his wife and me boiler is buggered - needs a new circuit board apparently. He's gonna call the manufacturer for me in the morning, so I'm grateful to him for that. And he fixed the immersion heater, so at least we've got hot water now.

His wife absolutely loved amy, so we had a nice doggy chat while he was working. She's another Saffa (they're taking over the world!!!) - from Durban, I think.

She actually is sort of doing a job as a hearing ear dog, tips. Barks like mad when the postman comes and I can hear her from anywhere in my (admittedly small) house. I could always stick her in the car and take the ferry, but I wouldn't have thought many hotels would take dogs.

Sorry to hear about the wife, but glad she's ok now. Diabetes?

Easter Sunday is April 20th, but Dublin in May or June would be lovely. I agree, it does seem a long time away though, too long! :upset:

Xpost Tipps -- bloody hell!! Is it to do with the diabetes? That was a fair old fright for the lot of ye! You'll have to be Doctor Tipps now for a wee while:l

Feck it Recs --- rotten bout the boiler --- ours is hanging on by a thread I gather as well --- but the thread can hang on as long as it....... can hang on!!!
        Will it cost a lot?
Rarely meet a Saffa over here --- they've more sense than to venture to this recession torn little island I s'pose!
I hope your boiler keeps going for a good while, molly. Dunno if mine'll cost a lot or not. The plumber said he'd try and get the manufacturer to fix it under warranty if at all possible. It remains to be seen though, cos I haven't had the boiler serviced annually and technically that invalidates the warranty.

Looks like the back end of April or May. We're away to the caravan beginning of June.

Right yer dinner's on the table, hurry up or there'll be nothing left.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Anon-a-whizz, two weeks ago you couldn't move - and now you're walking. Glad to hear that you're so much more mobile; you must have been so frustrated at being home-bound. Norway for Christmas - real reindeer and all that!

Tips, on with the nurse's uniform again. Hope Mrs T is feeling better. Certainly sounds as though there's never a dull moment.

Rec, everybody seems to be on your back re the avatar - better get going then!

                  Sounds like bliss---

Dreamy last Christmas I had about 14+ over the Christmas time and was so stressed.

My children live all over the place so when they come home they stay for ages and every one comes to visit here at Whizzy Mansions.

Norwiegen lot thrilled we are going over there

So on the back of that I have organised flights to see another daughter in Oman in 2 weeks. She lives in a fab place with a pool etc. Should be sunny and warm AND it is a dry country.:goodjob:

Bad news, Molly: I insist that you talk to me! :h:h And teenagers smiling: god, what is it with today's youth? Don't they know the Rule of Extreme Surliness?

And dammit, I'm close to tears again. Today's thread has been such a special one.

Anon-a-whizz: now that's going from one extreme to the other. My mum loves family Christmases - she would have it once a month, if she could. And she spoils us rotten. We try to make her do less, but she can be very stubborn in her own sweet way. So now we ask her to do the things she loves best, and we tackle the rest. I take it that you have a child/family living in Norway?

Feeling much revived after nanna nap. Just tested Mrs. T's BP, and it has come up nicely.

Any leftover sosaties to spare, Dreamy? I am totally not in the mood to make dinner. But as you said the other day: something on toast is also a meal. We've some lovely avos. Pity there isn't a bit of smoked salmon to go with it.

It's settled then, we're getting takeout from the Chinese place. The place of "Hong Kong Dark order before one hour" fame. Ironically, I've tried to order it thrice, but they've always claimed they're sold out.

We did get a fright, but it's a passing thing. Her BP is usually perfectly normal.

I cannot abide beans of the canned variety. Blech.

Evening all! just been to get some cash from the machine over the road, bought a bar of chocolate to make it worth the walk and it is freeeeeeezing

Thinking in terms of a bath, shove the lasagne I made yesterday in the oven and an early night. Its going to be difficult to get out of bed in the morning.
