    Army Thread Sunday 10th November

Reccie, haaaallooooooooooooooo Reccie!!!!! Come look, quickquickquick!

Avatart in place! took me hours to figure out how to do it here.

So if not the Dark, Tips, what then? Yes, couple sosaties left over homemade, nogal - just putting on the seven league boots... again. Avo and smoked oysters are divine, too

Molly, my biggest fear is being trapped anywhere without something to read.

And you'll want to know: they're carmine bee-eaters.
14 October 2013 was the first day of the best days of my life!

Spidey, at least you won't have a choccie that gone all melty on you. You must have been desperate.

Molly, a sosatie is a sort-of kebab, carmines are in the arty tart. Have a look here: droolworthy, but then I'm a dedicated carnivore: https://www.google.co.za/search?q=sosatie&safe=off&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa= X&ei=atJ_Upu7E5GthQf60ICgDA&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=12 80&bih=685

:yes2::yes2::yes2:I see a cuddly wuddly bear, Rec - your labours have not been in vain!

            Hello Possums!

A wee fly-by till I get myself settled on the couch for a read-back. I have a bit of a kitchen backlog to deal with first though.

I hope everyone's in fine fettle and will catch yiz in a wee bitty... X

Was it Dame Edna who always referred to people as possums?

How are you feeling now, ZenMeister?

Zen, pull a sickie on the kit hen backlog - make it somebody else's problem. And nice to have you back with us. Today's thread is a keeper and re-reader.

I'm dead envious of your Xmas plans, mrs a, and your lunch sounds pretty good too. Brilliant that you can walk 4 miles now.

Tips is rather a dedicated carnivore too, I think, dreamy. Is this a Saffa thing by any chance or just coincidence?

Oh crap Tipps... what a bummer about Mrs T. Was it the recent case of the mumps or is it the diabetes? And, yep, 'twas Dame Edna all right! How are you feeling after the walk? Did you get it all in? Have one of these for yourself and Mrs T :l Between the car accident, mumps, diabetes etc. you both must be a bit fed up.

Thanks for arskin Mollers... yeah, I'm on the road to recovery. It will be a couple of weeks till I'm at full trot but everything is looking tickety-boo, touch wood... ) How is the Day of Sloth going thus far? Is the teenager still doing the strange smiley thing? Should we be concerned for your wellfare on that score?

It's great you found a good plumber Reccy. Good tradesmen are like gold dust these days, all they usually want to do is rip you off, at least here. I'll go and have a look on my phone to see if your avatar is showing now...

Satzy... what you getting from Oz? They do some good licorice but I can't remember the name of it now... the Undies will know. As regards the other... I would feel resentful if friends/family were discussing me behind my back and I would totally confront them head on with it. One thing I have learnt this year is to speak up for myself and I wouldn't put up with being treated like a child or a problem for one darn second now. I've watched you making decisions and doing what's best at the end of the day after hashing it about with the peeps on the thread... I'm sure you will have the situation well in hand. X

Jacks... I have been meaning to take a piccy and I will in a few. I meant to post it for you eons ago and forgot all about it until I had to move things around for painting. Coming up in a bitty... )

FoxyLoxy... sorry to hear about the lappers. The clothes swap party sounds like loads of fun and I'd be right into that... I love getting hand me downs! Two of my fave shirts I wear all the time are old ones of Cheryl's. I agree with Mollers... it's lovely to have a new puter without any "issues"... enjoy every bit of it!

Dreamy... as I was going through the posts I was sitting here waiting to be enlightened about the Safrican Sosatie (I knew the rest would be interested too)... so I shall be orf to click on your link in a few... )

Whizzy... a Norwegian Christmas... it sounds lovely! I'm glad you're feeling better now. You certainly bounce back, by Gawd... :l

Hiya Sylv! Hope the lasagne went down good! Leftovers here as I am not about to kewk.

:wavin: Hiya RC (Canuck version!)... long time no see! X

                      And :wavin: to a'body else!

OK, so what is the Celtic Tiger reference about?

And are we REALLY talking about Chrimbo already? I'm honestly not sure how I feel about Christmas this year. Christmas is tough for me... all my cats died in December plus rehab last year. Maybe this year will be a happy occasion but I tend to have a sense of dread about it. I'll need to take that in hand and it's good that yiz brought it to my attention... gives me plenty of time to rattle some ideas around in me noggin. It sounds like Chrimbo is tough for a lot of us, one way or the other.

I think I might be going to an Afro-American's house for Thanksgiving... really looking forward to it and hope we can make it. It'll be great seeing how a different culture to my own celebrates the holidays. I miss that part of travelling, the cultural differences, always will I reckon. Thanksgiving is the biggie over here btw... like our Chrimbo. I had a really great Cuban Thanksgiving at someone's house a few years back.

I watched Agnes Browne yesterday btw... been meaning to see it for years and loved it (apart from the tears it brought to me peepers...) Made me think of the Dubbers crowd...

The site is playing up my end but I have managed to (a) read your link Dreamy... thanks for the info! Could do with a noice steak kebab right now... me tummy's actually rumbling! (b) Went on my phone and I can see your avatart now Reccmeister! And (c) here's wot I meant to show you ages ago Jacks... it's a dark picture and it's hard to see but if you look up at the middle of the window above my desk... that's where it's been living (apart from a couple of days while we painted) almost since you sent it. It had a couple of days in the kit hen but it just seemed to jive better beside me and the kitties in the orifice... :l

Oh and the pictchur on the wall above my puter is me grandma on me mam's side. Tres risque for a 1900 babe, eh? :H
