    Army thread Saturday 16 November

Just spoken to my Aunt.............Ella (for that is the dog's name) a black Cocker Spaniel has made herself at home good and proper.

Slept with Aunt on the bed all night and firmly ensconced on my Uncle's favourite chair.........oh dear bit teary eyed now.............heard a real bit of smiles and hope in my Aunt's voice.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

As long as Amy leave your shoes alone, Rec, you're fine. Give her the newspaper to read, it'll keep her busy while you help out with bottling the jam - just couldn't be bothered last night.

      What sort of project, Satz?

If they were all ladies it would be blooming easy peasy. Boots have got some luvverly sets. Get 3 for the price of 2.

It's going to be blooming hard to beat the half a dilapidated caravan we got from my brother last year.

                      Army thread Saturday 16 November

                      Hellooooooooooooo again, folksies.

Mum's hair and shopping done, town hall in Clash of Clans upgraded to level five and new barracks added, nanna nap had, about to start dinner. It'll be moroccan chicken. I've other plans for the lamb riblets I found.

Been raining steadily all day. No end in sight yet. Some parts quite badly hit. 129 patients had to be evacuated from a hospital in our neighbouring town, for example. I've had to backwash the pool a second time already. Mum's asked for a rain meter. Her dad used to keep meticulous records on the farm.

How's your potjie coming along, Dreamy? I actually don't own one. Does that make me a bad person?
                      I'll do whatever it takes

                        Army thread Saturday 16 November

Heya Tips! There's life in the barracks! Seems as though everybody else has gone AWOL.

Still raining this side too. Did your mum get her rain meter?

Decided against a pot. I kept on thinking how nice it would be to sit at the fire, glass of red in hand. Not a physical craving at all - just, I don't know, Remembrance of things past. Decided not to make things too hard for myself. So, spag bol it was.

Not owning a potjie does not make you a bad person, just a very rare and unusual one. Any reason for being potjie-less?

What I love about Moroccan is that mix of fruit with meat and spices - very similar to Malay cooking.

                        Later (perhaps)

The project : an Archaeology experiment.
Burying raw pig's feet ( an Irish dish - when boiled - called crubeens) in a peat bog then digging it up months later and seeing how is stays preserved. It worked.
See we have bodies that were found fully preserved 1000s of years old in the bog. Had all features still in tact - hair, nails even wrinkles visible - amazing.
Was in the National Museum - she was great.

For some reason she reminds me of an auld biddy that used to sunbath morning, noon and into the evening when we were in Feungirola. Never moved from 8am 'til 6pm. The kids thought she was dead the first few days.
