GABA
Hi Millie. I take GABA occasionally, 1200 MG per tab at a single tab with p5p (activated b6). It helps me a great deal but I only take it in the evening because of it's action. I also ocacasionally take phenibut with threonine, which crosses the blood brain barrier better at 500 MG, also with the p5p.
I find that after a stress day or when I have major stress induced cravings, taking these two helps me relax enormously.

GABA
Lol, thanks Kathy.. my pleasure:d
Gabby, I usually feel the effects within 5 minutes. If the sugar cravings are really bad at the same time as the stress, I'll take a 1/2 tsp of the glutamine under my tongue before I take the GABA/P5P and/or the phenibut/p5p.
With the l-glut, the cravings pretty much go away within seconds because the l-glut is getting to the brain through the sublingual pathway.

GABA
Just started taking the GABA yesterday...I know that only some of it passes the blood/brain barrier and I understand that that's why you're taking the 5p5--but what IS 5p5 and can you get it at a regular healthfood store here in US?
One other thing (for now anyway ), can you get L-tryptophan in the US WITHOUT a prescription anywhere? I used to take this before it was banned and it was soooo helpful in helping me to sleep...
Thanks for all your wisdom!!

GABA
Susan, it's p5p which is activated b6. There is some l-tryptophan in the amino combination but it is still primarily by prescription only due to a bad batch imported from Japan years ago...however, 5-htp is a precursor to l-tryptophan and works wonderfully to convert to l-tryptophan. I'll take 100 mg in the am and pm to increase the seratonin levels..
