    Sober December!

Hi all- just a checkin to say I'm still with you! Today is day 35 for me AF, and I'm planning on all of December and the holidays to be sober. It's going to be trying because we're spending 5 days with my GF's family and they are a hard bunch to deal with. But she loves them so I must do this for her.

Anyway, welcome to the recent joiners and keep up the good work everyone!

            Sober December!

Glad you enjoyed Brene Brown's presentations, Pavati. I think she is incredibly insightful.

Plodding along on my AF path and ever so grateful to be on this journey.

Hi, Free. "Plodding" sounds tough. Is that because you're away from home and tired? I'm glad you're still feeling good about the AF part. :l

Tonight is a holiday cocktail party for me. I will focus on the shrimp cocktail .

Hope everyone is enjoying all the good that comes from AF living!!

                  Sober December!

Hi NS, probably chose the verb "plodding" because I have been away from home 19 nights now (though I did get to spend five nights with my DH so not complaining) and have another 5 to go. The constant exposure to AL is a drag, but not something I can't handle.

Finishing Day 6. How is everyone doing? I felt a little sorry this morning but snapped out of it. I am feeling strong.

Hey everyone! Sounds like everyone is still going strong. :goodjob:

Pavati - I think we all have those days where we feel a little sorry for ourselves. Glad that you snapped out of it.

I'm still sticking with you in December. I've had some wobbly days but still hanging on.

Hi all, am finding that healthy meals and exercise help with keeping any thoughts of AL at bay. Here's to a great, AF Sunday.

                                Sober December!

Amazing that you travel so much, free. I'm glad you're heading home for the holidays. I am eating healthy food and exercising, too. Combined with no alcohol, I'm starting to realize that perhaps it was me making December a depressing month rather than me not liking this season.

I am on Day 8 and the only thing that I am worried about over the holidays is whether or not I will come clean with my close family (and in-laws) about the fact that I am an alcoholic vs. I just am taking some time off. I know eventually I will, but I just feel like it might make the holidays awkward.

Anyway - happy sober December 9.
