    Underoos and Friends - December

tawnyfrog;1599702 wrote: Aspy - if you're reading - are juvenile eastern browns (about 18" long and about the thickness of my middle finger) venomous? I'm getting conflicting reports.
    i dont understand the question?
all hatchling snakes are miniture replicias of their parents... ie: if mum is highly venomous the bub is too. our snakes produce lots of venom so a little tacker is still able to mess up your whole month.
they are 20-30cm ish i think.

i treat all snakes as dangerous until proven otherwise.
the most lethal snake in my opinion is the one that just bit you...
    post a pic.

Aspy - I found one of the cats playing with one just outside the back door. It was injured. So I don't know if the cat got it or if the cat got got in the process. This was about an hour ago and the cat still seems fine.

cats seem to avoid issue 99% of the time. the snake is usualy hell bent on getting away the damage is done before the snake retaliates.
hope the cat is ok, its what they do.
i would not stress to much you would know by now if it got a tag. keep the cat calm and still if at all possible just in case it got a small dose.

We met her yesterday. And yep, she is just that, gorgeous. Very sweet nature and quite likes a cuddle. Crossing all my bits that she fits in with the rest of the animals.

Yeah nah yeah nah Frog. Must finish that album. Got time to do it. Good to hear O'Riley's alright. I remember your concern in the past when the cats found some young snakes. Let's hope mum's set up house a way away.

Aspy - I can help you through the swim. It is the hardest part for lots of people but honestly, there are lots of easy tricks to make it quicker!! I bet Techie has lots of ideas too!!

Go out and swim 400m some time in the next couple of days and tell me how long it takes you. For me it is 10 mins and 12 secs and I'm an old bag in my 50s - for a fit young buck like you I bet you could manage to do some training and have it down pat by the time you do your triathlon.

                                :l
so, I swam 400m, a combo of flail, splutter and sink strokes but I did complete 400m non stop. it took me 17 min and 30 secs. I was knackered at the time but I recovered quite well within a few min.
I didn't wear goggles as i need to learn the whole head in the water and breath thing.
is attire very important in these things for a novice do you think?
