    Underoos and Friends - December

    Hey Aspy - well done!!

I wear goggles so I don't have to think about the discomfort of water in my eyes. It also gives me more confidence if I can see where I'm going - or what I'm about to hit when I don't steer right.

I also invested in well fitting swimming attire, it makes ALL the difference.

I'm just a novice too, but it did help me along when I first started.

This is excitement for you - non?

        G'day Noicey and Aspy.

I am excitement! Get some goggles for sure Aspy, 12 buck speedo's. I had to experiment with the fit for a bit, but eventually got them comfy. Not too tight. I spread the straps a little. e.g. one high on me scone and the other about midway, but that's just me. My head is a bit rare. Great work on the swim. Orf now meself for a run on the beach followed by a couple hundred mtr. swim. :welcome:

Hope you are having a rip snorter there Noicey my friend. :wavin:

          Arvo Undies,

Happs - has the pick up taken place yet? Can't wait.

Well, I'm wired for sound. 6 electrodes on me frontage and one on my back and an elegant little black case for the unit discreetly tucked into my pants. So fuskig glad I don't have a formal little-black-dress function to attend tonight.

Is it just me or does there seem to be a plethora of "I cheated while drunk" threads lately? A budding soft-porn writer maybe? Dog, I'm a cynic ...

Nicey - how is Lady Dharma?

Aspy - great stuff. Flail, splutter and sink are my best strokes too.

          34C here right now.

Pick up after dentist appointment TF...so should be back with her sometime around 3. Shall report carnage. Don't stick your hand into any sockets or stuff...

Go Asp! what about Zogg goggles? I only know this from the locusts swimming, I know nothing really but they did have a bigger lens than the speedos...more large blowie style than house fly if you see what I mean...when is it again? I must read back....

Oh shit ... I didn't realise Speedos were goggles. Couldn't picture what Mr.G was doing with his swimmers what with one strap high on his scone etc. HAd visions of a Borat style of swimsuit.

                    Howdy all,

TF - Lady Dharma is improving, although still a bit off her food. I've steamed some chicken for her and that will be the test. I reckon she's a bit queazy because of the antibiotics. Since the op her hearing seems to be improving too. She can't hear if I whisper sweet nothings but when I yell she looks up.

                    I SO want a bidet!

Mr G - huge salute to you. I'm supposed to be on enforced leave but that is the joke of the day. IT issues here and I'm yanking at my own hair, but really want to yank at someone else's! Still smiling though.

I'm 87% posh...... Not sure that's right but.

Only 27.2 here - feels hotter. So, not sure that's right but.

Must admit I thought the same thing about the "I got blotto and cheated on myself" post. I reckon you are indeed correct in your assumption!

I just don't understand how a person like me could be high range posh.

                          Hello everybody.
I am having a prick of a day.

I didn't wear goggles as i need to learn the whole head in the water and breath thing.
is attire very important in these things for a novice do you think?
aspy - yes to the goggles (and Zoggs are great, like Happy said). Dont think about speed - focus on two things: look down at the bottom of whereever you are swimming; and swim like your body is a dolphin. When you breathe, you need to move your entire body from the base of your spine, and then keep your shoulders in alignment so that your head comes out of the water naturally to breath. If you try to just twist your head it takes up much more energy, and leaves you breathless. Think like a dolphin or a snake - there probably isn't a lot of difference in how they move

Seriously, just doing that one thing improved my speed hugely!! (The other thing that made a difference was my kick, but that is much more complicated

very cool! I bought Mr B a bike for Xmas and from having been a running maniac he has now been converted. I dnt have a problem with him running, I've just wanted to have some company when I want to do some long bike rides

Me too. On both counts. Roll on Xmas!!

I've been thinking about Nicey's hair yanker and have started to do some yanking back (not literally!!) in terms of suggesting to my boss that:
                            • he asks questions and listens to the answers rather than bowling in as the knight in shining armour
                            • it isn't all about him. The organisation that we work for has its own objectives and it isn't the greatest organsiation to work for. But they dont make decisions with the sole purpose of pissing him off.our staff sometimes make mistakes. They have difficult judgements to make. Sometimes they get it wrong. It doesn't reflect on his ego.January (which he will be on leave for!! ) is a nice gentle month. People will be on holiday and working their allocated hours. It is not a month in which we can deliver more, because there will be fewer distractions.
At the moment I'm winning because I've just saved him from an almighty embaressment with HR. But this job move hasn't really worked out and over the next two weeks I want to think about whether I resign; or whether I keep trying to save the place; or whether organising an orderly exit is the most dignified solution.

I shall be much more cheerful once this week is over!!
