Missy - I tend to suggest to my young girl mates that they must always have enough money in a "Running-away-from-home" account to allow for such occasions. When your bloke is really, really giving you the shits it's better to remove yourself for a night or two than to kill him dead. Your DVD session and lunch sound absolutely perfect.

I have to echo all nice sentiments expressed. You've all gently helped me deal with stuff at a difficult time. I appreciate your non-invasive caring. Throb youse.

Hi Reggie,'Like Bridge, my prawnheads and oyster shells are bagged and in the freezer... my garbo doesn't come till Monday morning!!! I might do a sneaky and do a midnight run and illegally pop them in the public bin in Tannery Street.(Yep, it really is called Tannery Street).

Mr Rags made a terrific 1960's style prawn cocktail for lunch.





Going to put the chook on at 5:00.
Doing it in duck fat. Kooka's ducks should be well and truly cooked by now.


We decided on no gifts this year... phew.
But the Teddies managed to sneak home a couple of little gifts for Mr Rags.

My girlfriend in Qld sent this in the post with strict instructions not to open till Christmas. Lovely thought.

We cooked (& fanged) 2 last night...lovely. The meat was quite dark in colour & a bit tough but all in all was delish.
We took the breasts off the 3rd one & will do something decadent with it.

In other news I am most defo on the nice list....but Mr Cakes & I are heading into Central Otago on Friday (sans monkeys) for a couple of nights and I'm getting myself on that naughty list

Goodnight All.
Just a quick pop in before gratefully falling into bed.
Lovely evening at some close friends, spoiled only by people's insistence on repeating old Jones drinking horror stories. It seems to be a Christmas ritual. I'm the one that provided the fodder so I'll have to face up to the fact that the pisshead stories are going to have a great deal of longevity.

Suppose they feel much more comfortable exposing my underbelly than their own.

Apart from that, a calm and enjoyable Xmas was had.
