    Next to be my year

After years of heavy daily drinking, I had 3, 6 weeks periods of AF time in the attempt to quit. In that time I learnt that its nice not to be burden with this problem but I run out of momentum on my own. So next year I am going to go for it with as much help as I can get. I have Antabuse, I have ordered the MWO book I am going to see my doctor to see if I can get councelling and would go to an AA group but do not have the confidence to go on my own. So is there anything else I can do to get me past this 6 week mile stone. I really do think the problem is when not drinking I have alot of sparetime and after a while this spare time gets boring but I struggle to join new groups through nerves so this leads me backwards after a while. Any advice or suggestions on this please

next year can be your year. one good thing to do with your spare time is read loads and loads on here. post your feelings and thoughts. i.can understand you not being up to joining groups. maybe think about doing little things on your own. what you like to do. i have taken to knitting, wood carving, puzzles, and lots.of other stuff. Im not particularly good at any of these things but it keeps me occupied. i think there is a.thread here of 100 things to do when not drinking. maybe someone could post.it. good.luck
Today is the tomorrow i worried about yesterday and it turned out fine

Distraction is one of the keys to success in my opinion. Take up a new hobby, clean, or find somewhere to volunteer your "extra time". Do whatever you can to keep your brain busy so thoughts of AL dont have a place to dance with
