    Tobacco/Smoke-Free Roll Call

Thanks j-vo, and funny you should mention that. Since becoming sober and going to meetings (just got back from one), working the steps and raising my self-esteem, and visualizing different things (like football), I've already noticed a massive increase in my stamina. Plus switching lubes helped.

That's great progress! Good for you, Petey! Isn't it wonderful feeling the progress? I'm glad you're finding your way, and at such a young age. You have so much to live for.

Thanks for the support j-vo. Sadly, I'm on day 2 of screwing up my quit date. And on top of that, last week I screwed with my AA meetings. I'm just screwing everything around here! :nutso:

            Skull, way to go!

Petey, you keep trying. When you stop trying is when we should get concerned. Should you try other tools like the patch or nic gum? Or e-cig?

I'm hoping that, I dunno, God will decide to give me a break or something. Maybe I need an intervention. Do they have food at those things? Because I'm starving. Anyways, I'm making a travesty of this thread. I'm going to go make some food and probably take a dip. I'll wake up hating myself. :b&d:

              By the way, congrats skull

                Petey, don't give up.

I came home from Florida last night, and woman sat down next to me. We started talking, and the flight we were on stopped in Atlanta for our connecting flights. She said she takes this airline because of that reason. She told me she liked to stop at this airport because they still have the smoking rooms. She books her flights based on this. Oh well, just an example of how this can control us. We don't need a substance to control us like this. Right? It's so hard at first, but just keep trying.

j-vo how was your trip to Florida? This winter I've had the thought of moving down there, because I'm so much happier in the sun, and the state I'm in is very gray.

I'm not giving up. I'm upset, though, how I'm wasting all this money on something that is just harmful and addicting. Maybe I need a stronger plan. Like committing to tapering and then setting another quit date.

Congrats to K9 and Skull. Keep it up!

                          Hi Skull and K9!

Petey, plans are always good to have. Can you write in a journal what you want to achieve? How you will taper? Set the date and just do it? Or try gum, patch? They work really well. But tapering works too, if you do it. My problem with that is that I sucked at tapering.

Trip to Florida was just what i needed. The Sun, nice, warm temps. Yes, I agree. The sun on my face was so welcome and felt wonderful. I hope to move there at least part time when I retire. Now I'm in bitter temps and all schools around here are closed tomorrow!

Day 3 - no nicotine gum this time...don't really need it. But I chew a lot of regular gum! I will be smoke-free but have no teeth by the time this is over. LOL :H
