There is evidence that people who become addicted to things naturally have a lower level of dopamine receptors than those who just seem to be 'high on life' from day 1. It is hard to look back objectively on one's own life but I know I was never happy-go-lucky or able to enjoy things as much as some other people seemed to do. Did drinking increase my happiness at the beginning???
