DD keeps nagging to DO SOMETHING - but there is nothing more I can do.
I saw evidence of excessive drinking - but this time of year it's very hard to call what is a REAL problem.
New things this time 'round:
- He's home in March if nothing happens on the job front
- Skype set up for weekly 'meets'
- GF has my email
- promise of at least 3 emails a week from young Satz

Didn't shed a tear at the airport - 'cos I believed he really wants to go back - then just got text from young Satz saying how he loved being home - even just hanging around the house .....

I have a PERFICKLY clear conscience ;-) In a way this grog business can act in our favour - ya know --- back in the day --- 10am Sunday morning - free gaff for the day - sprog visits all done --- well - lets just say the aul 'pick me up' could be beckoning shortly --- try and keep it to after noon -- then off I'd go --- alibi an all --- cos being Sunday I'd be cooking Sunday dinner when Joe would come in from work so naturally I'd be sipping over my 'first' glass of wine - hence the smell of booze --- bollix -- yuck!!!

Satz, thing is, you cannot force anybody to change - we all know that: that person must want to change. And, as you said, Xmas is not the best of times to keep an eye on somebody's drinking. But keeping in contact - with him and the GF - is so good. And cry as much as you want to: it's good for the soul, and I think you've been trying to keep your feelings and fears hidden during their visit. :l:l:l
