    Army thread 29/12/13

Hello there Sweetypea, don't worry about how much you told us it was lovely that you could open up to us.

Been having a bit of a chat with MIL...she's a darling.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

That is just so true -- and like I said to Peapie last night -- we exert so much energy into batting our heads 'gainst brick walls -- we can only control 'me' --- that's all!
I'd hate them pills --- then I'd HAVE to get up --- or mebbe they'd make me WANT to get up - that'd be different I s'pose

Not gonna make a resolution but I do want to give up the smokes in 2014! What do ye think of those e-cig yolks?

Remember I've had two.............the first one was a cow bag of the highest degree.

And it hasn't been all plain sailing with the latest MIL but I played the ultimate trump card and produced her first (and I hate to say this) favourite grandchild.

I've got one of those as well. Bought it with the full intention of giving up the real ones............now I just nip into the bog and work when I can't get out for a sneaky drag.

Yeah- my MIL was a difficult woman sometimes. Hated most people. For some reason she tolerated me - think though for that same reason - I provided her 2 grandchildren in quick succession.
My smoking, drinking, and being from Dublin faded a bit then :H
On her deathbed - my SIL said " she always loved you " -Jazus was news to me :egad:

You just get a blast of nicotine.

I know when the kids were at school and doing this personal health thingy. Their first lesson the teacher just put a cigarette on the table and said ............this is the most addictive thing you'll ever see.....neither of them have ever even had a try.

Why are ye thinking of starting them?!

They come with wee canisters thingies with like a flavoured liquid or nicoteine which ye can inhale like a cig but without all the chemicals- handy for the likes of work

Well, with a delayed stop-over an all - from walking into Dubbers Airport and walking out in Toronto it was nigh on 24 hrs --- and I really didn't struggle for nicotine with the e-cig --- it doesn't give you that 'omg I needed that' feeling --- but it DOES take a bit of the edge off for sure -- now as regards Jacks using it at work --- I wouldn't be arsed - usually can manage to sneak out every couple of hours and have a quick one -- but even if I couldn't do that I'd just hold off till lunchtime -- maybe if I gave up altogether it might help in the 'smoking break' situations --- I know I know 'people places and things' --- why go out for the 'smoking break' at all?? Cos that's when you get the REAL gossip --- THAT'S why:H

Think you deserve it!!! Keep me company --- I'm doing nowt 'cept may produce a dinner laters

:H The smokers-hut is the best thing about my work. We rant and rave and let-off our collective steam then back to the wards with smiles on our faces! Tis great place for hearing the gossip and news too. If I did quit I would seriously miss that place!

Now that's possibly a start in the right direction ?
The nic in the tobacco is bad I suppose but the other crap they add is the real health issue ... I think:new:
( like butter - the real stuff is saturated fat yes but then when they 'get at it' and make it a spread it's 100 times worse for you)
Silly analogy but best I can do in my comatose state.

Resolutions (wot have you STARTED Starty!!!!) what about doing something 'positive' rather than 'negative' -- I just did a good thing -- mini boast here --- I'd bought a special book Simon wanted for his birthday -- he asked me to get it in the library but it's not available in Ireland or the UK (bout poker no less!!) so I bought it on Amazon and it wasn't delivered on time --- I sent a stonkin horrible review of the service - and a person from the retailers contacted me and somewhat snottily said I should have brought up the problem with them rather than post it on Amazon --- so I was gonna send her back a stinker --- instead - I took down the review and emailed her and told her she was right (which she was) and that I was disappointed at the slow delivery but I had behaved wrongly --- well I just got back the loveliest reply from her -- she told me they are a small-ish bookstore and it meant an awful lot to them to keep the customers satisfied so to speak --- made me feel right good it did -- and it was SO easy --- just to take a deep breath instead of jumping in with both feet --- may attempt to make that my ressie - well ONCE a day anyway ;-)
                                Brilliant idea Molly!
