Resolutions (wot have you STARTED Starty!!!!) what about doing something 'positive' rather than 'negative' -- I just did a good thing -- mini boast here --- I'd bought a special book Simon wanted for his birthday -- he asked me to get it in the library but it's not available in Ireland or the UK (bout poker no less!!) so I bought it on Amazon and it wasn't delivered on time --- I sent a stonkin horrible review of the service - and a person from the retailers contacted me and somewhat snottily said I should have brought up the problem with them rather than post it on Amazon --- so I was gonna send her back a stinker --- instead - I took down the review and emailed her and told her she was right (which she was) and that I was disappointed at the slow delivery but I had behaved wrongly --- well I just got back the loveliest reply from her -- she told me they are a small-ish bookstore and it meant an awful lot to them to keep the customers satisfied so to speak --- made me feel right good it did -- and it was SO easy --- just to take a deep breath instead of jumping in with both feet --- may attempt to make that my ressie - well ONCE a day anyway ;-)
    WELL DONE YOU !!!

The nic in the tobacco is bad I suppose but the other crap they add is the real health issue ... I think:new:
( like butter - the real stuff is saturated fat yes but then when they 'get at it' and make it a spread it's 100 times worse for you)
Silly analogy but best I can do in my comatose state.
You're right......the nicotine's the addictive bit it's the 8 squillion other chemicals that kill ya.

I did really well with Champix..........apart from the vomiting and forgetting me anti-depressants............and having to have 3 weeks of work with depression while the anti-ds kicked in again............twas a doddle.

For some reason that's just made me :H

Morning Army lovely bright one here but cold. Slept till nearly 10 this morning I must have been tired lol tho I watch the tv a bit late last night. I smoked on and off for years but onec I cut down I managed to give up cold turkey as it just became a bad habit I didn't enjoy. I remember being on a coarse and every break almost ev eryone on it went outside to smoke in the pergola or just sitting on the benches. After I finished that coarse I realied it was a social thing and I didn't enjoy them plus they kept going up in price after every budget here. I just cut down and then quit and I don't crave them now. Think my last one was 2007 some time. I wish the alcohol was easier but hopefully 2014 will be better. I need to get AA meetings regular again and come up with a better plan. And coarse stick post and read regular but most days i'm here. Just 2 coffees but not in the mood for brekkie yet. I've never been great with meditation my mind doesn't stay still lol but may have another bash. I'll have a look in the library for cds but I have some old tapes some where just sure if the tape in my cd player works well. Don't do new resolutions either just keep trying to live a better healthy life.

Jaysus -- I was off them for 25 yrs and I HATED the smell ---- the VERY rare time I'd look at someone really enjoying one I'd just think 'that looks nice' -- but soooo fleeting --- oh but I do love the smell of a pipe --- my Dad used to smoke one and it still brings me back to my childhood --- very few people smoke them nowadays -- mind you -- Joe told me recently he still sells a fair bit of 'snuff' --- good god -- that was even oldfashioned when I was a child!!!!
Now I really am going to wash the gruaige and all that -- I'm doing a chair at AA tonight -- haven't done one for over a year so best I scrub up well --- if I leave the hair doing till tonight I'll just say 'feck it' --- so back in a wee bit xx
OK - go on so. we'll mind the barracks for a while.
Then I best DO something too - maybe go buy nice food or summit !
God the house feels empty & a bit grubby - but don't feel like cleaning it yet !

                              :waving: Tab, Foxy!

Love the idea of planned laziness, Tab - mine just happens all by itself!

Lunch is sorted. Decided to do veggies and fruit for a few days after the excesses of Xmas, so I'll do a beercan chicken:H:H:H. It's almost in the marinade. So lunch sounds like an early supper to me.
Really going to get off my backside now, anoint the chicken, then move outside and read my book there.

Molly, I'll also need a fire started, if you don't mind. Say in about two hours' time?

                              Later!
