Right I will hold you to that....

    Erm

    1. Hitching my wagon firmly to Aspy's star (2 Occy straps and some gaffa tape should do it) and completely renovating my health and physical activity routine. This has already begun.

    2. Exploring some brand new options for work, including a small business idea that a friend and I are tyre kicking.

    3. I might even look at boys this year for the first time in millennia (Jaysus)

    4. Other:H

I love em all. Number 1 should never be optional i reckon.

Business idea? Love it. I'm very excited about my little org and all it's possibilities. It will likely spill over into community projects down the track. Look forward to hearing what you're up to with it ron.

I'm sure there are some decent blokes out there just waiting for a super gal like you.

I was that girl once and nobody said a thing.
It might be seen as a right of passage in this country, but I firmly believe that's bullshit.

With 20/20 hindsight, I would be all over that like Abbott on a foreign diplomat.

Good morning and Happy 2014 to all in the sweetly fragrant Undie drawer today. I'm so glad I finally plucked up the courage to jump in and frolic amongst you all in 2013.

Happs - how old is the locust?

Gosh that's a tough one Happs, when he's technically an 'adult'. I don't think I can suggest anything other than what you're doing, except while he's feeling like death warmed up you could google some lovely pictures of diseased livers to show him.

I was just going to say the same thing. Up and at em sunshine. This is the reality of it.

I'm a bit stuck with the boy on this subject. He's never had a drink at 16. I was already a binge artist at 15. So far, so good.
I want to model appropriate drinking to him, but obviously I can't.

Maybe the lamp can help. An occasional drink (singular) with dinner or while watching sport. My parents were pretty much tea totallers. Some one said to me once 'Oh, so you never learned how
to drink?' That's always stuck with me. As we know, if you prohibit something altogether, it becomes very attractive

I suppose providing some education around the cons of grog, however we do that, is something we CAN do.

:H I hear both of you...look this is the sensible one...never really had a drink until this last year, when he goes out with us has one glass of wine. He was the one who got me on the path to not drinking. I'm could be over reacting. But he isolates sometimes and he did this week with a bottle of wine in his room - or so I found out on Facebook. That really worries me. Last night was just the icing on the cake.

And as long as I'm on a roll, which it's abundantly clear that I am, we may as well toss the whole conditioning Vs genetics issue into the pot.

Our kids DO NOT have normal alcohol/addiction related genetics, nor have they been modelled 'normal' drinking behaviour. That a 1-2 punch for addictive behaviour potential.

So we may as well get real about it toot sweet.

There is no way my kid is going to go through what I did if I've got anything to do with it. And I will.
