Fresh Undies (and Friends) Jan 2014.

Re-visiting wafflage because I just had a thought.

It's re the Happses new puppy - I'm so sad that the Reccie is not posting in the Army at the mo - I really throbbed following his tales of his new puppy and how it was having such a positive impact on his life. I know people come and go but I used to enjoy his posts. Hope he's travelling well.

The earth is still NOT breathing.

How weird, I was thinking of Reccie today too. It must have been when I was cleaning up some disgrace that "Jesus Christ" had made....and thinking, I've got deja vu on this little jobbie...who else had a naughty puppy...and it was Reccie

Yeah, me too. Our reasons for hitting the grog in the face of incontravertible, undeniable evidence that for some of us on this planet, it kills us, is frustrating to say the least. How and Why otherwise brilliant, fantastic, beautiful people continue to go down the road of self destruction is a bloody enigma. If you're reading this Reccie, drop in and say gidday will ya?

Hot here outside. The new portable air con is battling against a direct 40c sun on a tin roof with no insulation, but doing an admirable job taking the edge orf in the attic thankfully.

And I should stop drinking water. I swear the next mouthful will make me chunder.
I was working outside to-day and drank a heap of water... like maybe 3 litres. Just had a wee and my urine was super dark. As in I said shit. (I should have said weeee) Have just had another 700 ml water.

Happs, let us know how dog gets on.

Here's what I've been doing the past 2 days.

            Missy will appreciate it.

Went to Bunnings yesty and bought the paint and bamboo.
It'll look better once I've transplanted the violas and the tomatoes have finished so I can pull them out.

Went for pseudo zen cum thai cum aussie theme. The deep ocean blue it was, was such a dreary colour.

Took me about 3 1/2 hours just to get one coat of cabathane on the bamboo. They recommend 3 coats. Bugger that.
As the bamboo is split in half I could attach first lot onto the fence no worries.. The second piece proved a tad more diff. as no space for my hands or fingers.

Had to wait till Mr Rags came home so he could hunt up some artery forceps so I could get to the cable ties that I used to attach it to the fencing

                Will do.

I got an overpriced 'Olimpia splendid PIU 12' portable aircon from the 'good guys' for $590. 3 yr warranty. You whack the air vent/hose out the window etc. It's making the joint more comfortable. I'm not helping the device by having heat coming in through 4 inches of open window that the hose is hanging out of, and i need some curtainage for a couple of windows. Forget yer water cooler style. Hopeless. Must be aircon. It's doing good.

Edit: P.S. I've seen portable aircons from 3/400 bucks new.

Corrie sends her warmest regards to all.

Excellent garden blitz happening there Rags! Love the colour, its gorgeous.

Old dog still not good. I just hope when I get the results from the vet, that there is something they can do. He's just fading in front of us....

                    Good morning Undies.

Happs, the colour is Cerise. Taubmans I think.
It's a pretty much out there colour.

Thanks for the a/c info Mr G.

That's what it looked like a couple of days ago.
The bamboo blocks out the garbage bins and next door house.
Concentrates your gaze on the features in the garden which are blocked out by the self seeding tomatoes). Have been growing the native violets to transplant round the place so they'll be gone in a week or so.
Eventually want to cover the garden area with very fine pebbles so I can draw doodles in it.

I'm reading a book on Cpt. A. Philip. RN.
Did you know that it was M. Flinders who first coined the word Australia for Australia?
                    No, nor did I.
He wrote it on a map of OZ he drew whilst prisoner of the French at Mauritius.
                    L. Macquarie liked it, ran it up the flagpole, and Australia we have been ever since.
Just in case anyone was interested.

I'm sending lovely thoughts to old dog.

OK I have to go. Catching the 8:27 to Sinney with Mr Rags.

Rags, that looks unreal. Anything you plant against that colour will pop. If it's in semi shade I'd be getting a nice Chorizema cordatum up that wall.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

                          How's yours going?

                          Morning all,

Rags, do you have tomatoes growing wild in that space with no encouragement/maintenance you say?

                          How's old dog Happs?

Did you get cooler temps overnight Frog? How's it going there?

A light cooler breeze here this morning, but it'll heat up soon enough.

Off to an uncles funeral today. Hadn't had much contact over the years. He was 90. Interesting to note another uncle lived to 80, and on mum's side, grandparents lived into their 80's/90's, so i might still have time to get that tour of North east Madagascar in before stumps.

                          Take it easy out there.

                            Morning Undies,

                            Great colour, Raggsie!

Bit zorsted here but hopefully all will be over by tonight - expecting a change but not before severe windy conditions set in. Nearest active fires are in the Grampians and unless something new flares up, there are no immediate threats.

Off to waste an hour getting a haircut and eyelashes thinned out.

Get some streaks while you're there. Maybe in Cerise.

                                GArden looks great Rags!!

Glad to know you Vict people are holding up ok. Mr B is finding the heat a bit of a challenge, but I'm rather enjoying it!! Mind you, I work in an air conditioned office and he is at home with just a fan :-)

He finally, finally, finally has a starting date for his job - day after Australia Day. We've had a few tensions over the last couple of months with him feeling down about not working, and me feeling resentful because I AM working.

I let my neice talk me into doing an after work biathlon with her last night - 4km run (or walk in my case!!) and 300m swim. I could barely walk to the train station afterwards!!! But I'm glad made the effort as I've been a bit slack in the exercsie dept over the past couple of weeks
Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn
