    A sober hello from me :)

    Hi everyone, I am very proud to be here tonight and be sober, I have had a couple of drinks but am now drinking my new fave tipple - peppermint tea and loving it, my hubby and i opened a bottle of bubbly we were given and after a couple of sips both said we didnt want it!!! this is such a new thing for me and such a fantastic beginning for my 30 day abstinence starting tomorrow - wish me luck and strength please!

          Great to hear that. Here to 2014 being a wonderful year for you and your husband.
          I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.

          Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.

          Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

                  Hi Mauri
                  Great to have you back. I am on day 1 again. This time we will do it. I am determined.
                  I have to do this to be an example to my son who is struggling with addiction to drugs, alcohol and gambling. I fear we are loosing him. He has been trying but I know he is not clean.
                  How can I ask him to abstain when I can't. Stay strong and let's do this together.

                    Day one done and dusted had one pang of 'oh im not drinking today' at tea time but it passed in a nano second

                        Hang in there. By the end of the month after some time away from al, you will feel so much better.
                        No matter how far you go or how fast you run, you can't get away from yourself. ....said at an AA meeting. It stuck with me.

                          Lovely waking up feeling well again today, although I have slept in a funny position and think I have trapped a nerve in my shoulder it's killing me!! Took my son out to soft play and met a friend and her daughter there then went to a nearby pub for lunch - I ordered a pineapple with soda - check me out LOL! Whilst I was there my hubby rang with fantastic news, we had been awaiting the banks final decision on our mortgage and it has been approved which means we will be moving into our dream home in a couple of weeks time - I can't believe it I am sooooooo happy! My first thought would normally have been to go and buy wine to celebrate with tonight but I don't even want to, I want so much to crack this thing once and for all!!!

                            Good news on the mortgage - use the money you would have spent on al to buy something for the new house, even if it's just a key ring.
                            14 October 2013 was the first day of the best days of my life!
