      Hi Bounce,

I am sorry to hear that you are buzzin right now. I can tell you are pissed! But, you have done SO well. Are you taking all the amino acids and going hard on the L-Glutamine - maybe upping that as you come down off the Topa might help.

Well, we are all rooting for you. Say hi to Jack!!

(since i miss Jack too, would you say hi to him for me too? lol)

            Sliding off of Topamax

I have been on topamax since February and at 300mg since May and I think some of you are exagerating or the cognitive side effects you are experiencing or crediting some of our normal everyday "oops" with this medication. In my experience, I have been at a loss for words a couple of times, but I have been uncertain whether that has been because of Topa or just a mental block I would have experienced anyway. If you found yourself in the grocery store with no idea of where you were and you couldn't walk, you need to see a doctor right away. That sounds like a serious episode that goes way beyond anything that Topamax could have caused. I'm not a physician, but I have not heard anyone else on this board describe any experience with Topa even close to that. Let's be real here. Spare us the drama and don't scare people with stories that have nothing to do with MWO. That just scares people away from a treatment that may actually save their lives.

1234 i think you may be right . i dont realy think my slip was because i droped down so quickly i think it was a mind thing .
The wife was out i was board .
anyway im going to try and stop at 200mg mainly because of the pins and needles .
I also have no other problems on topa but some people do.
              Regards phil

Also keep in mind... Topa will help REDUCE CRAVINGS. It's not going to completly erase alcohol from your memory banks! The cravings are going to be there at some level...I believe, If you've ever had a drinking problem...
It's not going to just dissapear, because you're taking a pill!
You have to be very determined, and vigilant. Just be aware of your thinking, (and your drinking(if you're moderating),think about how you'll feel tomorro... It's not easy, but it can be done! :P :d ...Judie

hi. no drama..the truth and not trying to scare people..try not to be so judgemental...not cool. at any rate, i am not exaggerating some of my problems with topa but happy noone else seems to be having problems.
lets start with the premise that people here are being honest and attempting to help themselves and others. trying not to be pissed off at your post, but you are talking out of your ass.
at any rate, topa was great for me up until the 200 mg and will possibly try it again.
                  good luck to all.
