So she went to the interview with 5 years experience of supporting people with dementia and her brand new nurses qualification, so they snapped her up. The wage is really good for a brand new nurse as well and they are going to give her a mentor to help her settle inOh Pinks that is just a great outcome. Fair feckin' fecks to Mrs P inkele:

Morning Gyco and Jc. Dreamy I don't eat any meat poultry fish etc. It will be a long term thing nothing to do with losing weight but I need to do that too. There is a lot of cruelty worldwide in slaughter houses and with chickens etc some of the stuff I have seen on video would break your heart plus animals are pumped full of hormones and all sorts to get fat quick and be killed for consumption and the way they are kept I won't go on. Watch on the PETA and NARA website to name a few animal welfare/charity groups. I'm telling anyone to Veggie/vegan but its a choice for me. I know not all farms are cruel but many are awful. I read dreamy you were vegetarian for a while, was it for health reasons? That's part of my reason too. Next I have to work on a regular exercise program this cold is making lazy lol.
Agree on the cruelty. I try to buy free range where possible -but then forget:upset:. But it's expensive and you are right not to support the farmed stuff .....
But just be careful to supplement your diet with vitamins etc.
We are as humans built to eat meat -but as you say not at such a cost.
I will think on too - but fish is mostly what I eat these days.
    Thanks for reminder ....:l

Fox, if I had to slaughter my own meat I'd be vegetarian again in a flash. Had an interesting talk with one of the farmers the other day - free range chicks only have to be outside for a max of 5 hours a day to be classified as FR. But yes, while I still eat meat, I try to go for the "better", more "humane" options - when it's available. I went vegetarian after I went overboard with biltong  couldn't bear the thought of meat for months, and then stayed veg because of stubbornness that eroded over time. Still have many veg meals, but us Saffas, well, we need our braais - and a veg kebab on the coals is certainly a lot less appealling than a slab of meat
14 October 2013 was the first day of the best days of my life!

Now you rest well, Mario, promise.

Funny when I was pregnant both times the very thought of meat turned my stomach. Weird that the luvverly Jenz has grown up a total carnivore.

I love the idea of a juicy steak -but the reality often lets me down.
BBQ as Dreamy says is the only way to eat it methniks.
Fish is ok Dreamy is it ?
But then do we know if fish suffer ? We don't hear them ?

I used to do a bit of fishing and to be honest the fish look ermmmmmmm a bit uncomfortable to say the least when you pull them out of the water. You have to give them a good bash on the head to kill them or they just suffocate.
