    Army thread 11/01/2014

I would be afraid to cook with wine or Alcohol at this stage as I might be tempted to drink the rest lol. I used to make bolognaise without red wine well I never added it just tomatoes onions and sometimes mushrooms or peppers with the ground/minced beef. I have gone vegetarian since new year so will be using quorn instead of minced beef for chilli con carne and bolognaise dishes etc. Meat and fish are out for me for various reasons. So still looking for veggie rtecipes as its a bit new to me but good so far. Hope things get better at work sweetie nothing as bad as going in dreading the day.

Where is zenstyle ? Is she ok.
      Well done Mario !!
Visceral fat is the fat we get around our organs - even skinny people can have loads of it and look thin to the layman.
Is not that visible for the outside.
You will have improved your health immensely getting rid of it.
I suppose you will need now to totally overhaul your diet -what did they tell you ?

      Gis a few tips ?

          :waving: Satz and Anon-a-whizz!!!

Fox, I'm ok cooking with wine, but then I have to do it it huge quantities so that I can use the entire bottle. I get the dish ready to where it says to add the wine, then go to the wine shop, buy, add, continue cooking. I'm going to need about 500 ml for the bolognaise, so will have to buy that really crappy 500 ml boxes - closer to vinegar than wine, but it does add a lovely taste to the dish. Is this vegetable thing a long-term plan, or just to get over the Xmas excesses? Do you still eat chicken?

Satz, just general blahness, plus lack-of-work worries, plus I think a bit of the Mr X thing, but I'm smiling again today. Came down like a sledgehammer - scary. Rode it out though - very proud of myself for that!

          Enjoy the surprise, Anon!

Molly, you have told me about the balsamic reduction before - completely forgot. Have some in the pantry, as well as a pomegranate reduction - will use that today. Also means I won't have to go to the shops - village after 9 on a Saturday is a circus.

Oh I forgot to mention Mrs P had a job interview to work as an RMN in a dementia home a few days ago and they phoned yesterday to she got the job!

She has done so well, we never expected her to get the first job she had an interview for, she has literally just left uni 1 month ago

morning JC, she has done so well,so proud of her.I knew someone would snap her up , she has always wanted to work as an RMN with dementia, she was a support worker with dementia for years and she thought right i'm gonna try to be a dementia nurse. So she went to the interview with 5 years experience of supporting people with dementia and her brand new nurses qualification, so they snapped her up. The wage is really good for a brand new nurse as well and they are going to give her a mentor to help her settle in

I know the dementia nurses that dealt with my Ma were just wonderful........I often thought they must have a special stash of kindness and tolerance..........it would have driven me round the twist.
