    Army thread Wednesday 22 January

Jackie, yeah, now that I'm not in the automotive industry anymore, that I don't have to get up at 3:30 or 4:00 a.m. I remember logging on here at 3:00 a.m. one time several years ago and you said, "Dear Rusty, what time is it there????":H Glad you're having mild weather. I have to say, in all the times that I went to England for business, I only saw the sun twice, but I am glad it's mild for you there now.

Big hellos to JC, Mr. Tips, Satz, Molly, Mario and all the Army goers, have a lovely day!!!

            Hey Fair Lassie Satz

Big hugs from your fellow Irishwoman here in frostbitten Wisconsin.

Satz, I used to travel internationally A LOT...in fact up until 2012, I flew somewhere almost every week. I used to spend a ton of time drinking the free booze in the Sky Club, and on long layovers, I headed right to the bar to pass the time. Like you, I didn't think I would ever be able to pass up the fetching wine bars in some of the airports, but I have. If you can pass up the airport bar just ONCE, you will feel so much better about yourself, and your confidence will come back, and pretty soon...you won't have that feeling of the AL beast pulling you to the pub. Believe me, I was so skeptical when people told me that if I kept saying no to AL, those nagging drink thoughts would go away, but they really do. Hang in there.:l

              THANKS Rustyredlocks
I did manage 2 airports last year. But it was such a part of my holiday experience for years and years that when I heard Molls was at the airport- first thoughts were : duty free shops then straight to the bar for a brandy
But you are right my thoughts are changing slowly : I do not think I'd panic if told I couldn't go to the bar - coffee would do - and that's certainly a change in my mindset

I haven't cooked a meal since Saturday's braai, so off to the kit hen with me.

Tips, the family must be starved if you haven't cooked in all this time.

Satz, the first time doing anything AF is so scary, isn't it - and then the second time round I can only laugh at how I panicked before and during. But oh yes - when does it get easier?

Just had a lovely chat about all sorts of things with a neighbour who lives a couple of houses up the street; their beloved dog has to be put down (I think they should have done it a month or three ago, but I also postponed when my dog had to be put down); so there we were, standing in the street, crying like babies, waving hallo to the people driving past - bizarre...

Later all - need some coffee
14 October 2013 was the first day of the best days of my life!

Well if you'd said earlier I've got Stirly's delish fish dish. a fish chowder and a HUGE pan of lentil and tomato soup in the kit hen.

It does go honest........crikey Missus you've done a sunny one without it..........more than me. I'm just on the little ol' domestic flights. Still haven't begun to think about the sun, sea and sangria type hollinday. Molls, Mario and Mrs A get through it.

Gawd there was nothing I liked better hitting the bar when I got to the airport. Loved early flights as it seemed 'legal' to start slurping down the red wine at 6am.
