    937 Days Alcohol Free

That's right! I remember the accomplished feeling of hitting 100. Now I'm anticipating 1000. Passing 6 months cigarette free now also. It hits me often how dang lucky I am to have made the choice to save my life and take the drivers seat instead of letting substances dictate what happens in my life. I now have an awesome start to a career, not just a job! YAY! A retirement set up and deducted each month to match what I would spend on smokes and booze alone back then. It's growing fast. Going from so broken and lost to where I'm at has humbled me and also sparked a fire in me that hasn't dimmed. Keep trying until you make the leap to just do it.

    Much love,

    Turn Around

      Congratulations, neighbor and sober sista!

I was just thinking about you the other day and hoping there would be a post just like this. You're a quiet one and it's always great when you peep up with the latest on your inspiring progress! You sure began with a lot stacked up against you and you have shown great determination and commitment to dealing with all those obstacles on top of smacking down addiction.

I'm still trailing you on the Addiction Free-way....just starting the 916th day of forever freedom from the dual addiction of alcohol and nicotine. There is NO WAY I would ever go back to that dark, small, terrible world of addiction.

I don't know what your daily habits were costing you in terms of $$...but I had about a $22 day habit. Holy moly....that's north of $20,000 now that hasn't gone up in smoke or down my throat! Wow. I guarantee that money now HELPS me and my family and others....

FYI....to clarify any identity confusion for our MWO friends...BOTH of us TURNS are Alaskans....we joined MWO at roughly the same time and got sober at roughly the same. Interesting that we happen to pick similar names. As Turn AROUND knows...my online name,TurnAGAIN, comes from a PLACE up here where explorer Captain Cook kept getting stuck. Guess it just could have been as easily called Turn Around as Turn Again because that's what his boats had to do every time they got sucked into the mud when the tide rushed out. I think the lesson there might be....keep trying until you get free? Free is fabulous.

Finally...fellow Alaskan, Turn AROUND - I'm glad you're fanning flames....But I wonder....are you the one causing the big thaw up here??? The other night when I went to play hockey, it would have been safer to put my skates on out in the parking lot to get inside to the rink!

Looking forward to seeing you roll the sober odometer to 1000 and then onto 10,000 x forever. It's just so skookum to be NORMAL.
      Sober for the Revolution!

Wow 937 days AF that is amazing, I find that 1 day is hard to achieve
at times so to have that amount is stunning.
