Thanks for the cakes Tawny ? they?re hilarious. Who on earth even thinks of these things! On that note, I?ve often been tempted to have one of these made for training days:

Rags, I love Sister Wendy. I imagine nuns generally get the same bad rap that non-drinkers get, as though they?re somehow out of touch with society and left all their knowledge and sense of humour at the altar. If anything, I imagine they have to deal with more ?stuff? than the rest of us do!There's two ways of looking at the holes in your shoes

Need to ask about the robo vac TF as I've received this offer in the email box and it seems preferable to a shouting match inspired by alternate states of hormone levels - me and the locusts, the Lamp is above all that shit...

[QUOTE=myhappyplace;1621620]
How do people explain these to the cake makers when they request them? or are they DIY jobs?

Nah, I just can't see the humour in most of them.
What respect do they have for themselves and the baby they've just brought into the world that they would even think about, let alone want cakes like that.
Now you are all going to call me a MOF

Happs - I really like my Robomaid - from memory it was around $350ish but I guess they all do the same job. My SIL got one around the $1000 mark but I don't know what the difference is. Once you get over the "I could have vacuumed much quicker than this" and just turn it on and leave the room, it's a ripper. Compared to your normal vac, it's got quite a small capacity dirt collection thingy but I don't know how much dirt I collect after 1.5 hrs of normal vacuuming because we only tend to empty our vacs when the bin is full. Emptying out is easy-peasy however as I have a leaf-blower permanently set up I give it a blast with that each time I empty it out. You have to manually pull out any stuck doggy hairs etc from the brushes but that's not been a drama, even with all my eyelashes. I like mine.

Sorry if my link offended you Raggsy - I did not for a moment think the cakes had anything whatsoever to do with the miracle of birth or the joys of parenthood. Guess I just have a bit of a penchant for black humour.

Jeepers, those cakes!! Can you imagine anyone wanting to eat them?
We did a 25km bike ride today and finally worked out the route that takes us south. Only, I stayed in bed too late listening to the ABC, so by the time we got out and about it was way too hot to be bike riding?.. so I've been horizontal in front of the fan for the rest of the afternoon. Just about to head into town for the Chinese new year Parade and hopefully some yummy food
Happy - go the RoboVAc. We ended up getting an upright vacuum cleaner with a very small motor ?.. out flat is really small and it is easy to stay on top on things. But I reckon it would take a lot of stress out of the equation for you to get one - you can just set it up to go while you are doing other things, and even if you just use it as a "once over lightly" jobbie, at least it's nice feeling like the place is relatively clean and tidyNever give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

I can’t help with the vacuum cleaner advice sorry.
All my life, my dream was to have a big family, house in the country, scrubbed pine kitchen table, the whole shebang. Instead I ended up in a pseudo inner city townhouse, with a career, a cat and a cleaner. And two gorgeous boys, of course, but both of whom are now off doing what gorgeous boys should be doing, with gorgeous girls to keep them company.There's two ways of looking at the holes in your shoes
