Yeah, but employers are after all sorts of exemptions such as wanting the $15 to include sick and holiday pay and AND deduct tips from that $15 an hour.
    Bastards is right.

We are leaving reasonable tips when we eat out etc.

I thought a tip was between the consumer and supplier/host etc and had not a thing to do with bloody management.

Who didn't sit in the classroom, look out the window, chin on wrist, listen to Clancy and dream??
My favourite line from that is

"and at night the wond'rous glory
          of the everlasting stars"

When Mr Rags and I were camping round Innaminka and Bedourie a few years ago, we slept under the stars.. no tent, and I would gaze up at the milky way and those words would drift round my mind.

Yep, I sat in the classroom and could see every scene that was being described.
He so exquisitely captured the essence of life in the outback.

            Yep.
The current basic wage there is about $10.75

And in Canada they are spending $5 million a year just on the alpine ski team.

... and that terribly sad poem 'The Last Parade' about the horses who went over in WWI but never came home ...

              "...........
`Over the sea you brought us,
              Over the leagues of foam:
Now we have served you fairly
Will you not take us home?
              `Home to the Hunter River,
              To the flats where the lucerne grows;
              Home where the Murrumbidgee
Runs white with the melted snows.
`This is a small thing surely!
              Will not you give command
That the last of the old campaigners
Go back to their native land?'
              . . . . .
They looked at the grim commander,
But never a sign he made.
              `Dismiss!' and the old campaigners
Moved off from their last parade.

                Oh Tawny,
When I was in Ballarat ages ago, I saw the sculpture commemorating the horses that never came home. Of all that went away, only one returned.
I just burst into tears. Am blinking hard now.

Arvo Poets. I got chucked off yesterday too Frog but was not typing anything of worth, so I no complain...your poem is sad. And grim. Can you start reading some Edgar Allan Poe to lighten it up?

Rags, seriously, should you be skiing? I've done similar to that, skied and ended up with a blood clot and out on my back to stop movement. It was years ago and maybe times and treatment have changed but that looks bad.

Hugs to all sick people and animals. Take time out. The world wont bloody stop. Speaking of stopping, the Lamp is home and jackhammering again. Like a dog with a bone or something like that. It makes Jesus Christ bark and its not fun but hey, its gotta be done...
