OMG Happy - that would send me into a complete tail spin!!! Shall we start a sweep on how long it takes for them to be moved out?
And a question: do you need to get planning permission to build downwards in Australia?

One of my faves too G. BTW, cant remember whether I told you we saw Diana Krall at the OPera House the night before I went to Melbourne. I've liked her voice for a long time, but I had no idea what an amazing jazz pianist she is!!

After having my bout of bronchitis last week, I've decided to bring my planned May holiday in Vietnam forward to a late March holiday in Bali. And I've pinched Tawny's preferred holiday destination . A week of sun, massage, fresh fruit and vegies, swimming, yoga, meditation etc etc etc. I will treat my body with the respect that it deservesNever give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

Oh Missy - I'm over the moon for you! And so soon. Bloody lovely. I think I'll wait until July/August and I expect to be even more excited after you give us your full report.
So good to see Undies firing on all fours with various gentle and/or manic projects. Can't report any heroic deeds today -I did however lift a whole pile of liliums for transplanting to a more suitable location. Had to dig the buggers up and I swear they were half-way to China.
I've just remembered I had a question for you all. A lovely Ovary PM'd me asking, in light of the recent heat, why we don't have airconditioning. In my case, I can't justify the cost of installing a complete system and as we only get maybe fifteen? days of extreme heat per year, the pedestal fan and wet towel seem to make things bearable. How about the rest of you?
Rags - is that a Moon boot? I can just see Nicey teetering off to the Command Desk in one of those ... LOBL

Arvo all. Missy! good on you re the Bali trip. I just loved it. I didn't post any pics as it was so busy at the time, but it would have to have been one of the best holidays we'd had as a family. Highlights were some of the food places - Clear Caf? at Ubud comes to mind - riding the elephants and just chilling with the locusts and the Lamp. Bliss.
We've just got an air con unit in the lounge Tawny. Only after the 40 plus heat over Christmas mind you and then it suddenly went cold. But its been used the last few days. Only use it over a certain temp and the only reason I caved on buying one is that the Lamp got a deal on ebay and had a mate of a mate sparky wire it in. Cold for $1300, cant go wrong. Not looking forward to the bills but that's the price for comfort.
And Missy, we do have to have planning permission as we are also plumbing in a new bathroom and have to have the supporting beams certified by an engineer. Helps to have these people as mates and rellos though. And one of the locusts is helping with the jackhammering, for a price!

I'm hopping skipping and jumping about Bali!! The stars are lining up, with off-peak airfares and bookings to get there and back, plus most of my work deadlines due the week before!
Re air conditioning - having moved here from a somewhat colder climate, we sort of expected air conditioning to be built into our accommodation. It hasn't been and I have to say that I'd rather not have it. It isnt always comfortable, particularly at night - we have a constant battle about whether we have the doors open and the mozzies coming in or whether we have the doors closed. Most of the time we have the doors open, a mozzie zapper going, and a Zornado Vornado 660 Air Circulator Floor Fan - Heating & Cooling - Floor Fans | Harvey Norman Australia to to circulate the air. I much prefer that to canned air!!Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

Frog, re air cons. I prefer to have the option, but i only use it in extreme heat. I prefer natural air/traffic pollution.
Cool on that Kraw/claw gig Missy.
