          Hi folks
          Bella and I are home from the vet specialist centre and her diagnosis has now been changed back from bowel cancer as the most likely suspect (thank Dog!) to a thyroid condition (tumour/s - nearly always benign), with the proviso that we do the GI ultrasound in a few weeks if the thyroid meds don't have the desired effect. So we live to fight again - twice a day in fact, when I try and shove a pill down her throat. I'm so bloody relieved, I can't tell you!

          bridgey, how are those muscles feeling? I hope going at it with Mr G all night was a big help.

          aspy - the cold symptoms a few days out from a race is pretty much business as usual, and probably not a bad way to make sure you don't overdo it in the leadup. You'll be fine on the day.

          Miss B - the Bali Holiday sounds positively blissful!!

          Rags - can I sign your boot when we have our coffee date?

            Oh that's great news, Glassy! I swear it's true when we say cats have 9 lives.

            Aspy - your Grandad sounds wonderful, I like older people & their pearls of wisdom. You are going to rock this tri on Sat.

            Yay for Bali, Missy! Yay yay yay.
            We don't have aircon because:
            A) it wasn't in the house when we bought
            B) it's way down on the list of wants/needs
            C) We don't like the pollutants is sends into the air
            D) they cost a lot to run
            E) we've got good cross flow air (open the front & back & voila! a breeze tunnel)
            However, we do run to a pool or the beach or someone else's air conned home on the really hot days....!

            You all made me chuckle, thanks.

                      A/c these days just do not leak halon like they used to.
                      Agree, if you don't keep the filters clean they can grow bugs, become clogged and run inefficiently.

                      Our reverse cycle a/c is fairly cheap to run.
                      It becomes expensive when you run them for hour after hour at ridiculously high or low temps.

                        That's good news about Bella.
                        When we had to give any of our cats tabs, we'd either crush them and mix in with a little tinned food, or just open mouth, toss tablet in, hold mouth closed. This sometimes induced a great frothing at the mouth from said cat and VERY angry glares.
