Well I just had a nice chat with Sharif from downtown Delhi (the Indian one) who needs my full bank details before he can refund me for an account overcharge
That's not going to happen, Sharif.
So he put me on hold to listen to Bollywood muzak.

This day continues to get more and more suburban.....

Things I love about renting: when the dishwasher hits the dust, you ring the property management company and a new one gets installed without it costing you anything.

Things I hate about being a land-lady: getting complaints from your neighbors about your tenants, necessitating an urgent weekend trip home to lay down the law.

I'm in NZ for the next two weekends in a row! But next weekend is for pleasure - one of Mr B's nephews is getting married on Saturday and his boy has won a spot in a representative rowing team with a competition on Sunday. And we got cheap tickets

I debated whether to send this to Mr B with an email title of "Birthday Present?" or not.

Decided not. Mine is in April, his is in May, and the show in Sydney is pretty much perfectly in-between!! So I think I'll just get tickets and it can be both of our birthday presents!!

                        I must say roo's. I am excitement.

It's not the impending probes, undies on horseback nude eating ice cream, that Rags is back (though that IS excitement), or that Hugh's coming to town, no......it's, it's.....well, i'm unpacking a new toy. An electronic drumkit. Cool sounds, but main thing is i can record big huge sounding rock drums 24/7 without worrying about neighbours. I am amazement as i unpack the thing and the assembly slowly comes together.

Glassy, I reckon I'll get there around 11.30? I've now got everyone's phone numbers so if you all get there early and park yourselves somewhere I can find you all. Or at the rendezvous point you choose. Easy peasy

Hopefully the sound is redirected into someone's ears at some point Bridge! How it works is via headphones for the 'quiet' practice, even though electronically via the drum kits 'brain'/module, you could have a huge percussion symphony including gongs going on in the headphones. It's all rubber pads shaped like a drum kit, so you play it as normal. The sounds built in are varied from huge Phil Collins or metal drums to tabla's and bongo's (or gongs Techie). You can also program your own drum sounds. This all means i can practice and get my skills up well into the night without disturbing folk, and also means i can record that drum idea with the huge timpani sounds tripled at 11.00 p.m. with no worries. And, it plugs directly into my recording set-up and i can tighten up any sloppy drumming using music software on my P.C. I can change any drum sound i play later if i don't like it, or prefer a different sound for that particular drum.

I prefer playing my real drums, and will do for the folky/ambient stuff, but i want to try this new kit out with some metal and electronic music. It serves a few purposes and will be fun too. It opens up more possibilities for the home recording muso like me. Aren't you glad you asked? :H

                                Edit: Hi Saucy!

P.S. The sounds the kit has and is capable of compares with the big budget drums you hear. So a million dollar sound is possible. Access to great samples/sounds is so cheap these days. It helps level the playing field sonically with the bigger studio recordings and artists.
