I love all the pet stories with happy endings!!!! I have my little Lucy here in bed with me watching the Olympics. Shh, she doesn't know she's a dog and has us trained very well! We love her to pieces and they really do heal the heart! Busy wonderful day for me! EB had her first fitting for her wedding gown. She had on her veil, shoes and had her jewelry along. All I can say is she was stunning! Then we went furniture shopping for their new town home. I'm exhausted!, but in a good way. Time to go to bed as I have an early star tomorrow. Good all! Yes Nora, it most certainly does depend on the tech. Hope it all turns out ok. Had a bit of a scare with my last one, thankfully it all turned out fine.

Hi all, busy day today.
K9 is that a picture of you and your daughter - gosh you both look young almost the same age! How do you add a personal photo as your avatar? Hopefully it's not too complicated.
FT that certainly is a romantic story! I'm so glad you finally both told each other how you were feeling and are together. And now you will have to share all your wedding plans.
Kradle I use dehydrated chicken as treats for my cats. Not sure where you live so not sure if you will be able to find it. It is often in the dog treat section in the pet food store. I like it because the only ingredient is chicken, you can also break it up into little pieces. My cats love it so much we call it "kitty crack". You Tube has a lot of videos about walking your cat on a leash and clicker training, also lots of books on Amazon.
Zen my cat also plays with the throw rugs and I find them all bunched up. We have a heated floor in the bathroom and the cats lie in there all day and sometime burrow under the rugs so they have covers.
Dottie it sounds like your new doggy is starting to come out of his shell. He is a very lucky puppy. I often foster kittens and about 2 years ago I fostered one that was from a hoarding situation. There were so many cats and kittens that the shelter was not able to care for them and they were going to have to euthanize them unless they found fosters. This little 3 week old gray kitten looked just like a dust bunny from under the bed - she was so tiny and cute! My youngest daughter ended up keeping her and now "HoneyComb" is a big huge fluffy gray cat but is very loved.
Lizann, I am sure your daughter looked amazing! Don't we all kind of dream of our daughters in a white dress and looking like a princess? My youngest has already planned her wedding even though she is without a boyfriend presently.
Mama you have to be the sweetest dil ever! You are taking such good care of Nana. I'm sure she really appreciates all the energy and effort you are putting into caring for her. Getting Tiger for her was such a good idea.
So I am sure I am forgetting people, I have caught up today in little bits and I tend to forget more that way than if I read everything all at once. I have decided I am going to stay on the NN roll call until Friday when I reach 40 days and then just post on days that end with a 0 or maybe a 5 also. My oldest sister started going to and belonging to AA 30 years ago. She still attends meetings and it is a big part of her life. I don't know why but I am scared of the fact of being sober taking over. I just kind of want to get on with things and not obsess with it. I know I can't get compliant but maybe counting everyday, after a certain point, is too much. What do you think? I posed this question in the nest and got varying answers. I was surprised that Brydie says she thinks about alcohol everyday. Anyway I am very proud that I have gotten to 38, this the longest I think I have ever been. Now I just have to keep multiplying that number! Anyway it is close to bedtime so I will say good night.

Liz I?m sure your daughter looked beautiful. I burst into tears when I first saw my DIL in a wedding dress (good ones, of course ? lol)
Mama ? that?s sad that your workmates didn?t support you through such a tough time. I would have expected it of Princess, because she clearly has no concept that anyone else in the world exists, but the others should have been there for you, especially when you give that place everything you have and more.
Nora ? you?ve just reminded me that I?m way overdue for my squash job. Yuk!
Dottie ? the easiest way I?ve found to resize photos is through Microsoft Office Picture Manager. Try this: Picture -> resize-> predefined width x height- -> email small 160 x 160.
Kradle I hope your visit goes well. I?m so glad you?re also catching up with your friend ? I know how lonely you?ve been feeling without your friends around. Make sure you get lots of hugs to bring back with you! And also, I?m sure you know this but Matt is likely to try and hang a huge guilt trip on you when you leave, puppy dog eyes and all. Don?t fall for it, OK!!! You?re saving his life!
Bastet, I'm also a bit wary of too much counting. It's the pink elephant theory, sometimes thinking too much about not drinking just makes me think about drinking! There's two ways of looking at the holes in your shoes
You can dig the ventilation... or you can sing the blues
I didn't come this far to only come this far.

Hi Everyone,
I agree with you Bastet, although everyone is different, I too don't like to emphasize counting days as it keeps drinking front and center and the best thing for me is to get on with life and try my best to forget about alcohol. I did count the days after my father died last month but I was counting the days I was drinking heavily and couldn't wait to get back to my normal alcohol free state. I'm back to feeling great, having focus, and was reminded in those dark days alcohol is nothing but a horrible, life depriving crutch.2023 - focus, getting it done, and living the way it should be and being the person I need to be.

Hi all,
I stopped counting at 5 months...now I will note milestones like 6 months coming up and 200 days but otherwise the days arent as important now.
New doggie is adjusting but still very shy. I posted a pic on the LOAM thread.
Off to buy him a name tag so he knows his name..

Kradle - I will be thinking of you and Matt! Give him lots of hugs and kisses but stay strong! What you are doing is saving his life, I am so proud of how strong you've been throughout all of this. Oh, and please take a picture of yourself on a horse! We gotta see that one
Bastet - I've often thought about fostering dogs, but I don't think I could let them go! My cocker spaniel and the chihuahua are finally tolerating each other (the attitude is all from the little one of course). Her name is Lucy too! Short for Lucifer, as in a demon! LOL I wish Forrest (the cocker) would sleep in my bed, but he had a pretty rough past life and I think he is in heaven in his own comfy bed. But boy he will hop up there if I happen to be snacking on something. ha
Mama - You are taking such good care of Nana. I still check in with Sierra's Nana even though I haven't been married to her son in 16 years. We were the best of friends and I still love her dearly. Oh...speaking of WHN...she got a call to come in for a second interview today at 2pm! She is going to get that job at Panda Express. I am so darn proud of her, this is her very first attempt at getting a job!! Speaking of jobs, I am interviewing for the Dispatcher job on March 4th...good gawd I have been trying to get to the Police Department for years. At this point I am just thinking "whatever". If it happens, it happens.
I hope Princess can reign in the drama today Mama. Any updates on her and baby daddy?
Back later :h:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:
Believe in yourself. You are stronger than you think.

MK-9, the kittens are cute when they come and are very little but by the time they are 7-8 weeks old they are like crazy teenagers! I would keep them in my daughters bathroom, she doesn't live at home, and when I walked in in the morning it was like a bomb had gone off - water, food, litter everywhere. And filthy little kittens that had walked in each other's poop and then of course walked all over the tub, toilet, counters everywhere. By that time I was ready to give them up and I can only imagine puppies are much worse!
That is definitely cool about your daughter getting a job at Panda Express. It will give her great experience! During high school my daughter worked at a bakery, a clothes shop, a camp and as a receptionist. I think it was really important and is part of who she is today. I'm sure she will be great and maybe you can get some of their Kung Poa chicken- I love that stuff!

Bastet, like several others here I do better if I just take it one day at a time. Can't give too much attention to the numbers because it just keeps me thinking about drinking.
Hope everything goes ok Kradle. Can't wait to here about it.
Good news K9! Sierra is gonna love making money! CJ has an interview tomorrow for a full time HR position. Please send good vibes her way. Jobs are so hard to come by and this one has benefits! She's looking and trying, I'm proud of her. Her current position is just a temp job. This real job would help her settle down and not move around with the bf.
