Greetings from the workhouse - which I actually like on Fridays - as there is a nice small crew only in - the rest of them work from home etc etc .
Still feel I'm wasting my life away in here - feel I should be DOING something !! Making a difference to SOMEONE's life !!!:upset:

Just had a pregnant employee wander up here looking for information :H
3 of us actually surrounded her , falling over ourselves to help her ..... the poor girl.

We are that removed from our so called 'customer' - the employees - 'cos everything is now done on line that to see a real person we got over excited :H:H

So I've been meaning to ask what this "army" is. For the longest time, I just assumed that it was a thread for those somehow associated with the armed forces of the world, but from reading this thread, it clearly isn't. Please enlighten.

Thank feck the weekend is here. Feels strange without Mrs. T, I must admit. She's volunteered me for MIL duties tomorrow morning, though, so love isn't exactly in the air. MIL is very opinionated, so I have to bite my tongue the whole time.

Welcome Alky - good to see ye. No we aren't associated with the armed forces- just an Army against the booze- I think!

MrT :yay: for the weekend- you made it! What do MIL duties entail?

Satz- not that I have any great love for HR- but ye are making a big difference to many peoples lives if ye are making sure they get the correct pay at correct time etc...helping work-out maternity or sick pay too- makes all the difference to peeps lives IMHO x

How was picnic Dreamywan? Defo not picnic weather here- there'd be more than soggy sandwiches on the go!

Foxy- hope ye got all yer messages done and didn't get too wet xx

Glad to have all me messages done for the day and safely back in the warmth and peace of house. Traffic about the town was chaotic- Happy St.Valentines me arse!! a lot of folk needin anger management methinks- as I say so glad to be home and lookin out at the rain

Gonna make a start on dinner now and then chillax... and since it's Valentines am gonna treat meself to a Gu hot chocolate souffl? for after!!

Happy Valentines day all! My husband actually bought me flowers....and they were delivered to my office, where I am not, because of this horrific snow! ACK! My friend who actually made it in sent me a picture fo them however, and they are beautiful! After 12 years he finally got it right, and I wan't even there to get them lol

Hi Army and Waggy and Alky!

Picnic was lovely; we got the basket and eating tools plus a picnic blanket and pillow to take home - not bad as far as loot goes! Oh, and great news: there's a good chance the organisers will give me extra T-shirts that can go to people in need and the mats used in the shouty-lady sessions - I'll take them to a playschool/day care centre for the little ones to sleep on.

Waggy, flowers story is funny-sad. You must be so sick and tired of snow; I've had a look at the pic IAD posted - not for me, thank you very much.

Satz, and you feel you didn't make a difference to the pregnant woman's life? But, yes, get what you meant.

Very early night for me - save some good conversation for tomorrow, won't you?

Sweet, stick some candles all over the house. I just love the atmosphere they create - if I wasn't forever reading, I could probably live without electric light.
