    Army Thread Saturday 15th February

I couldn't find any translation of halfnaaitjies on Google - but found this - actually quite scary to see (opposed to abstractly "know") that you can't chat in private anymore:

21 mins ago - Mrs. T and mum get really pissed off when I refer to the cubs as "halfnaaitjies" - ... I won't give you the literal translation, though - it's rude ...

No use bothering with lunch molly - go for a very early dinner...

          I did find a loose translation, though - half-caste.

Mrs. T has just reported back. The worst thing she can say about my father's new GF is at she chose him.... Good luck to her, then.

I actually checked Google to see if there was a halfway decent translation - but nothing really gets the spirit - perhaps mongrel; catches that spirit of not-quite-equal. Was going to post a treatise on the intranslatability of language, but thank your lucky stars that I'm on my way out to be fed somewhere. Oh, and my cleansisters have had to learn to live with being called aangenaai. They're called that with great love and affection, though.

Seems that the Army dads are quite busy - does Sweetie's dad not also have a new lady friend? Oh well, Tips, if the two of them are happy together - why not?

            Later!

I don't know how you iron anything. Period.

No cooking here tonight - I bought enough shite today that they can graze from the pantry cupboard and fridge.

I'm considering a ciabatta with avo and cream cheese myself.

                    Those muffins sound delectable, Molls.

I've just had 2 more choc mallows, though.

Can't believe it's only 9.30 but I'm ready for bed. If I disappear, I'll see you on the morrow.

                          Army Thread Saturday 15th February

Hallo..... my least favourite person in town invited himself over to the people who had invited me for supper. Took over the entire conversation - it was a never-ending monologue. Now this is a person who bored me to tears when I was drunk and loved the whole world and his dog - imagine doing this sober. :egad: :egad: :egad:

Chicken enchilada seems to be flavour of the week in the Army - did Sweetie not make it yesterday?

Device dread - love the term, Tips - have appropriated it.
