I have been on and off of this site for a few years....in 2 days (the 27th) I will be one year sober and it is almost completely due to the firiends and support I have gotten here. Hi RJ - the site is seeming a little unstable - some avatars missing, some posts lost and maybe some inability to get on the site.
Some are wondering if it is changes in production or if something is happening?
Wondering if you could reassure us as to any plans or future vision for the site? It is a lifeline for some of us, and the contingency plans aren't feeling the same as our "home" here - thanks

Newbie but excited!

Hello RJ! I'm just starting...just read your book last night. Tomorrow I'll be making an appt. with my naturopath. I've read several posts which encourage me to be successful, and like the title says, I'm excited to reclaim my life! I'm an elementary school teacher, so the possible cognitive side-effects of the Topa. are a little worrisome, but I'll talk it out with my doc. I'd be willing to help out in some way to keep this site going. Thank you!

Soberistas.com just announced a small membership fee, to begin at the end of this month. A furor has been unleashed! I hope whatever plan you decide upon for MWO can somehow avoid the ill will that is now pervading that website. I had joined there as a back-up when MWO was often slow or offline entirely. I wanted to know there was a place that people who want to remain in touch can find one another. However, since my :h is here, I won't be subscribing to that website at this time.

It is a tough call - reasonable arguments for and against a fee structure abound.

We're all interested in hearing about your plans for the site and the new information you're planning to share.

I appreciate your efforts and am eternally grateful for MWO, NS

Byrdie, thanks for giving me the name of the billing company, but they have no record of the transaction. However my checking account shows a draft in the amount of $29.85, and I also have a receipt. I sent an email to MWO (no one seems to pick up the phone), but if I don't hear from them by the end of business today, I am going to report this transaction as fraudulent and will just continue to use the site as a free user. I smell a real rat.

I hate to state the obvious, but it's been really difficult accessing the site the last couple of months. I'm starting to feel like you're trying to get rid of us!!!

Are there any plans afoot to solve the server problem (I assume that's the issue)?

I totally understand that you've been very nice letting us use your site to stay in touch with each other RJ... and maybe it's just me that feels a bit out of sorts with the problems logging on... but I'd just like to know where we're at. :l

Agree, Zen, I have had some problems on and off over the recent months, but over the weekend I had SEVERAL incidents where I got an error screen. ACCESS DENIED or Site Not Available. It was frustrating for me, and it hasn't happened THAT often to me....I read frequently that the UK folks have awful troubles getting in....many losing posts by being bumped off.

RJ, I hope you have been made aware of the issues.
PS, Spam is much better now I have noticed. Thank you for helping us....we all depend on your fine site!! Byrdie
