    Sober March- Who's in??

Good for you Skull! I know you were debating about that show for awhile. There will always be more shows but maybe not when you are working on your 120 days.

Free that is a lot of yoga! You must be in amazing shape, I can barely get through a 60 min class.

Spirt- I'm glad you are feeling better today! I think the first week was the toughest and then you repeat all the days.

SoberSoul it must be hard to see your mom like that but I imagine it is reaffirming to you not to be at that place when you are her age. Tell me how did you get flat-bellied? I would love to know the secret!

Not much going on here. Busy week at work. I had a bad night on Monday but it was a matter of too many Zantacs not alcohol so I am not back at day one. It was not great though and don't want to repeat that.

I hope you all have a good AF hump day!

Good genes - absolutely lucky. I have a small appetite. No secret. For exercise i do rebounding on a mini-trampoline but have been very lax lately.

I am now at the train station waiting to return home. I managed to abstain through the whole stressful visit and drank lots of tea, coffee and water.

My husband is picking me up at the train station and I'll have another challenge as we will go to a nice restaurant for dinner and be celebrating my homecoming (we are madly in love). i'll be good. Don't worry. Practice makes perfect!!

            Sober March- Who's in??

            Hi, Everyone:

Marching right along, I see (couldn't resist).

Free, I've done yoga three times this week. I owe this to you all here, but I am impressed with four hours a day. My arms and core are weak - I can't wait to feel them stronger.

Bastet - glad no al, but take care of yourself!

Off to help kids with homework. 3/6 - Almost a week into March. What are everyone's plans for the weekend? I'm heading off to visit old friends. Not sure I'll be able to post at all, but I'll try to check in. I'm not worried about being AF, just explaining it all. I'll keep it simple, I'm sure.

            G'night!

Pav-- yeah definitely keep it simple. A quick "yeah I'm not drinking these days" usually shuts people down. If needed, add a "for my health", "I'm on a health/yoga/whatever kick" or the trusty "doctor's orders, no biggie". I find a simple statement at the beginning, but said like it's no biggie, it's just how it is-- that helps to just end a "debate". You don't owe anyone any explanation further than that.

Have fun on your weekend with old friends

What's everyone else doing this weekend? For me, my weekend is going to be largely spring cleaning and organizing, of both my home and my work studio. It feels good to get things in order, makes me feel in control of my life and my surroundings. I'm also gonna do some exercise (weights today, sprinting on Sunday) and probably catch a movie with my GF. Might do some art in there too.

Protect your quit, everyone- we're one quarter of the way through March

SpiritG- keep up the good work... Once you get used to not drinking... You get so busy you forget all about it ..... Almost.,
I have so many things going on now that don't include drinking that it keeps me busy.
I do still think about it... My mind tries to play tricks on me like "it's the weekend" it's been a long time...
But I don't want to lose 2 days because I have a fucking hangover. I hate em.

Just wanted to pat ya on the back.

Hi Skull and everyone... Happy sober weekend.

                      Sober March- Who's in??

Hi everyone, here by the skin of my teeth. Last night I came close and tonight out of sheer exhaustion I wanted wine and when we couldn't find the corkscrew, I wanted a beer. I took it out, then noticed the tea was boiling so I told myself to drink the tea to see if the cravings go away.

This morning, after being away for 4 days, I was sitting at home and my husband said, "the boys are here, they're outside." I said "What for?" and he said, "to move the furniture and boxes". I said, "You mean we are moving today?" and he said, "Yes, I thought you knew."

So I spent the entire day packing our little cottage up and when I got to our temporary set-up that we are using while the new house is being built, I was hungry, thirsty, bone tired and frantic for relief. Hence the strong cravings.

Like I said, "I couldn't find the corkscrew." That's the only thing that saved me. I have to get some groceries in this place pronto.

                        Sober March- Who's in??

Hi all, quick check in for me. Four hours of yoga is not like four hours of a yoga class at a studio. We do a lot of breathing, warmups, poses, and back to breathing and relaxation. I imagine it's about half an hour of continuous exercise. I do know it is making me more centered with no cravings or thoughts of AL.

                        Stay strong through the weekend.
