Hi, All:
I'm back. Not drinking this weekend, and another friend has also quit. She used to be my drinking buddy, so it is not entirely surprising that we found ourselves in this position together. I didn't get any pressure to quit, just curiosity. No one else doesn't have an off switch, so there were not guilty ones either. All in all a ton of laughing, even as we tended to the mom of one of my friends (a 2nd mother to me) who is terminally sick. It was a great weekend, enhanced by the fact that I was sober. So, Skull, I didn't keep it light, but it all worked out in the end. Thanks for your support.
SpiritGirl - GREAT for you to come here when you're wobbly - and excellent work making it through the first sober weekend. Keep using this site for support - you won't regret it.
So true, BK - making it through any craving is not even close in comparison with losing your weekend.
SoberSoul - Maybe you should just throw away the cork screw for good? In desperate times I have been known to push a cork into a bottle so I could get the wine out. I'm glad you stayed strong - good luck with your move.
Spirit - I first saw the Brene Brown talk from Free's link - I was weeping by the end.
Lead - you sound great.
I'm off for some Sunday afternoon Yoga - inspired by my gurus here. March 9, nearly a third of the way through the third sober month of the year. Day 98 for me!
