    Army thread Saturday 8 March

Morning troops! I managed a lie in until almost 9am today so very happy about that. I love your recruitment policy Satz We were talking only yesterday at work about ageism (which doesn't exist of course, only in my imagination apparently)- believe me its alive and well. My SIL is something big in recruitment for the NHS and she confirmed it for me some time ago.

Got housework to do today as I spent four hours yesterday evening getting my hair changed, looks very odd still when I pass a mirror. If any keen gardeners want to come and sort out our postage stamps of gardens which look disgusting will keep you fed and in coffee :H Can also offer decorating holidays on the same terms but so far no takers.

I am determined to sort out my life and factor back in the time I spent drinking, I know that was a multi task a lot of the time but am sick of never having a minute for me to waste sitting on my backside on the computer :H
AF since 9 December 2012 :yay:

Now then this phone thing is beginning...........ha beginning..........it's driving me nuts. Getting on the bus, getting off a bus, talking about everything on the bus ..............do the passengers really want to know how your last smear test went.............at a till, at the bank, the punters at work, crossing the road, .........thought I was going to witness someone being run over by a double-decker last week........I'd bet she would be still clutching her phone in the ambulance had it hit her...............pushing a pram the size of a small car while trying to get on the bus................shall I go on.
      YES!
And DRIVING a car-illegal but they all do it over here - young & old !! Sooo dangerous :gramps:

See the unsociable hours suit a certain age group
Here - can I have a job there Molls ?
          Would :h it.

The library has approached our Company to set up on site.

                  Hi Army,

Quick check-in for me as I want to scram to the gym before going to the aquarium.

So I wake up, log on here and what do I read first thing?
Getting on the bus, getting off a bus, talking about everything on the bus ..............do the passengers really want to know how your last smear test went.

Thanks, Jackie O, I needed that this morning!::H OMG! I know what you mean, though....it's also people on planes talking loudly so they can be heard and feel important. Sometimes I want to scream, "Shut the f*ck up. No one gives a damn what deal you wheeled today!"

Molly:h Thank you for your kind, welcoming words to me the other day. I really appreciated it. Also, I don't know how you managed to take care of your dying mum, work full-time, and take care of a family.:goodjob::h. I am so sorry to hear she passed away. My mom was going through chemo in 2008 and I drank out of sheer sadness and fear. Now I realize sobriety is key for when the time comes for my mom to pass on...at least I can deal with it with a clear head. Regarding the job market, it's the same way with my career: In actual fact in my job - there is reverse ageism --- the value of 40 and 50 somethings is really appreciated and you immediately have a head start if yer not a young'un --- don't think that's all that usual tho......
Several years ago, I went to Vegas for a company conference. It was blazing hot in Vegas, and our hotel's fitness center was closed for renovation so I had to use the Hooter's fitness room which was down the street. Hungover and parched, the thought of dragging my fat ass down the street was wayyyy too much for me that morning, so I thought I could take a shortcut and cut across the Hooter's outdoor swimming pool area. There were all these young women in bikinis and since I was obviously trespassing, a security guard stopped me and said, "Are you here for the Ms. Hooters International Contest?" I about spewed all over this guy, but I pointed to one of the models and said, "Why, YES, I'm her mother!!!!" I was welcomed inside right away. 175 contestants x 2 = 150 fake boobs!:H

Big hellos to Satz, Tip, Rox, Spidey, Mario, Firefox....and anyone I've missed. Ok, that's all I can offer the Army this morning other than to say you guys are fabulous and I'll talk to you from the plane on the way home!

The beds in this house are double - execpt mine -king.
So that's easy -I KNOW my ones and use my favourites mostly.
It's the effin 'fitted sheets that get me FFS !!
WHY can't they print the size on the tab yoke :upset:
