Yup same here at home in the 70's . You've got your 'edumecation' now off into a nice office and earn some money.
Uni didn't even come into it.
Managed to do a HR Degree at night .... but never followed through to further it.
Which is why NOW I've had enough 40 years later - in the safe office job -
If I get the you know what - I' ll be back to College quick smart I can tell yer.
Don't care what age i am ...

Whats' for dinner.............roast pork sliced, put in a shallow dish cover with onion gravy and top with mashed potatoes. Sprouts, cauliflower, carrots and turnip.

Not sure about the pudding yet.

Now don't laugh but I wanted to join the Navy but me mother just about had the vapours........and this was back in the day being WRNS just meant driving cars and answering the phone. I wasn't going to be in charge of an aircraft carrier.

That looks lovely JC - bright & airy ....and right on the Quays.
Have forgotten the name of the other one -but t'was SCRUMMY - small & quaint - but delicious - to be honest there are SO many we are spoiled for choice.
I will ask DD today -she is in Dublin -so knows everywhere :thumbs:

Lord knows when dinner is............just had a ganzie at FB and looks like it was a ermmmm jolly leaving party to say the least. I've deliberately made it so it can be eaten as and when, just needs a bit of a re-heat.

Had the apple and rhubarb in the freezer and the pastry so voil?.

Oh and just got a text to ask if I'd work tomorrow..............yes with a double ? sign.

Good Morning, Army!

A cheery hello from the plane en route to Wisconsin. I had a lovely time in Atlanta over the weekend....sunny and 70F. The belugas were amazing....the whales, not the band, Jackie.:H

As I was getting on the elevator at 5:15 AM today, I was accompanied by a very hungover rugby team leaving for the airport. The smell of stale bourbon on one guy's breath about made me hurl, so I offered him some gum, and another guy some Advil. I've never seen such grateful looking, hungover faces. Yeah, been der, done dat. So glad that's over.

Big hellos to all my friends here. I'm off tomorrow so I'll see you then.:h

Now don't got too far...........I was thinking more of a de-luxe cheeseburger from Maccy D's.

Ach it's not often it happens so I won't start throwing me charts and how to work out your units calculator at her today.

She starts tomorrow..............the tenancy on her flat up here runs out 23rd March so I think she's staying with the BF for a couple of weeks................I'll find out more later when she's revived a bit.

Good afternoon Army and visitors.
Not long back from celebration party for womens international day. had to stay over as I was doing a long run at the crack of dawn. Lots of wine etc. at the "do" but I never gave it a thought and nobody put any pressure on me to have just one! So I feel now that I can go anywhere and be accepted as a non drinker.

Starving hungry after an 18 mile run but feeling very happy and on top of my game again

Had a lovely day of doing very little. The weekly shop was done and dusted in just over an hour.

Salivating over the dinner talk, but some leftover braai will have to do. We did eventually eat last night.

Quick shout-in when get a chance. Still down home at Dad's- literally haven't stopped.

Party went great- no family scuffles, plenty of food and booze (not me tho!), singing n dancing- great craic! A late one tho and poor groom still in his bed 'recovering' So relieved to have got it over sans drink. Did get a drilling and ones saying but you WILL be drinking on Friday??!!! Looks of bewilderment when my answer was no. Honest with a few uncles that I was getting too fond of it and am happier without it. Kinda getting to point I don't care what they know or think....its what I know and feel is important, yeah?
Hafta say was sooo good to remember going to bed, all that I said and to wake today not feeling like shite! How and ever it was good fun watching those who had had 'a few jars' let their hair down
