    Army thread Sunday 16 March

Oh no - do I have to choose between a meal at Maison Molly or JC Towers?

Drummed up support for your shouty thread in the Nest, JC.

Saw a dead pig's leg cut very thick in shops yesterday - was thinking of marinating it in olive oil, mustard, sage and whatever else looks interesting, then putting it on the braai for colour and flavour, finishing it off in a slow oven. But that means going to the shops, and you know that I have to trudge through feets and feets of snow to get there.

            Gooooooooood morning Satz,

Do you know the more I watch of the Paralympics Winter Olympics the more I feel humbled and grateful. Geez just watching these lads with no legs cross-country skiing on what looks like a dining room chair and they make it look easy

I didn't know the Paralympics was going on now-- where are you watching? I just recently say a film called "Gold" following and portraying the lives of 3 Paralymic medalists. Super inspiring!! My spell check is on the whole time. Have I created any great new words??
                Loved Irratic---
realising I don't have anything great to offer my fam for dinner-- you're all lucky the shops are open. Can you really buy a leg on Sunday, Dreamy?

I used to tease her that she only showed interest in it to get a man - horrified she was :H
But turned out yes she REALLY loves it.

She was like a mad woman yesterday -couldn't sleep the night before and wouldn't leave her apartment .... watched it there alone.

When they won she was all giddy and itching to get out and had no-one to party with - all her friends are now into babies never rugby .:l
I was of no help to her there as you's imagine !!

The Paralympic athletes really deserve heaps and heaps of praise.

The leg is from the grocery shop, Elsie, not the butcher - yes, food shops open, wine shops closed. Have to say, that really made quitting a lot easier - we can only buy booze from 9-6 here, with no sales on a Sunday (I think the days and times differ from province to province).

Have to get kit hen in a vague state of cleanliness and tidiness before I tackle that pork. Sunday, no great hurry, though.

A cat to prevent broodiness :H:H:H:H - what next? Even Giada is giggling madly!

Once walked into the wineshop at not more than a minute past nine - told them I was looking for empty beer boxes - which I did need, but really not urgently - and said "While I'm here, I may as well get something to drink". Fooled everybody, of course!
