Pork in marinade - a beautiful pomegranate reduction (that I could eat by the spoonful), smoked Worcester sauce (coz it's made in Worcester, a next-door town), grainy mustard and the dry stuff, olive oil, marula jelly, garlic. Should have done it much earlier - guess will have to braai much later than planned.14 October 2013 was the first day of the best days of my life!

I swear to god you all have me laughing my ass off!! Poor little piggy doesn't know what's coming!!
Dreamy, did you make the pomegranate reduction yourself? Sounds delicious!
You're all welcome to visit me in Berlin, get it off the ol' Bucket list! Just as long as you don't want to be doing anything cool!

Molly, your Aunt Elsie sounds like she was a blast!! Now can you tell where I'm from? What if I threw in an AAWEESOME!! I have been in Berlin for 15 years-- moved over to marry the father of my kids who is German. At that time I was living in Seattle but I grew up in Arizona and Alaska. The father and I aren't together anymore but we live very nearby and have a lot of contact because of the girls.
Where is Tipps originally from? One of the things I've enjoyed about MWO is meeting so many people from all around the world. It's crazy! And the Army is great 'cause so many of you are in the same/similar time zone as I!!

Someone new to play with in our time zone ......:yay:
In my job I deal a lot with other European sites - mainly Belgium & Netherlands but we do have some of our team over in Germany !!
Can't imagine many Germans saying the 'AAWEESOME' word - is that racist ?
Do you miss 'home' ?
Will you ever move back when the kids are settled ?

:hallo: Folksies and :welcome: Elsie.
Curry is in the oven. Lamb, to be specific. I love making it at a leisurely pace on a Sunday afternoon. Plenty of time to roast the spices, grind them in the mortar & pestle etc. now just for the rice and rotis.
Elsie, I'm from South Africa. My home language isn't English. We're Afrikaans. I suspect Dreamy might be too (or way more bilingual than most English-speaking South Africans. I never bothered to ask ).
Anyone have a synopsis available, or will I have to read back?I'll do whatever it takes

Not only do you all have a lot of humour, you all seem to be amazing cooks. Damn! The lamb curry sounds to die for. I also love it when I have the time to roast the spices and grind them by hand!
Tipps, this thread moves way too fast for me to keep up! I'm barely holding on!
Satz, I do miss my family very much-- we were just back to visit for 5 weeks over Christmas. They all live in AZ. We talk a lot on the phone and send emails and see eachother every 2 years-- or more if they venture over. I always thought I'd move back when the kids are older (I have 2 girls, 9 and 12) but I don't know. It is hard to live so far away from family. I think I will probably end up staying near the kids-- though my BF is from Columbia and the mother of his son (13) is German. I think we just have to see how it goes!!

:waving: Army!
Tips, don't be lazy - read back!!!!:l Lamb curry sounds divine! Send some over here, pleaseplease. Although that massive piece of pork is waiting for me - had an impromptu late afternoon birthday party.
Elsie, this thread is like most of the long-running ones - until you get to know the people it's like being an in-law where all the others are family and know each other from pre-nappy days. And yes, we luuuurve food.
Sugarbabe, my settings are for 40 posts a page - still the same number of posts to read, but it looks far less intimidating - and it helps with scrolling back. So, I'm still on page 2 here!
Laters, all.14 October 2013 was the first day of the best days of my life!

ah Molls !
We all know there are two sides to every story eh ?
I don't know - can anyone really know- the real ins/outs of their relationship - what she said to him ?
If they are not together maybe she just doesn't want him there ?
so don't worry about it - you'll just drive yourself MAD :l
